Oh boy, that's like 6 locations in the whole US that shows band12 spectrum available.
Damn, hate to say it but Tmobile coverage is a joke compared to the big 2.
Wow, this post is just dripping with preconceived notions. Are you looking at the same map I am? I see dozens of dots across the entire country. You're not looking at the red circles are you? Those are places where band 12 can't be deployed due to interference from broadcast TV stations on a neighboring frequency. Each purple or pink dot is a CITY where T-mobile has either announced coverage is live, or it has been observed. In other words those aren't single towers, each one could represent hundreds or thousands of towers. If you look at Houston there's just one dot for the city, even though it's available throughout the area. Also, keep in mind that band 12 isn't the only band T-Mobile is using. It's supplementing their previously existing coverage.

I drove from Houston to Denver and back recently, going through the Texas panhandle and northeast New Mexico. I was without HSPA+/LTE for maybe 15 minutes out of 16 hours of driving. I'd call that pretty good, since these were parts of Texas that probably have more cows than people.

and they want to call it "extended range lte" don't bet on any of these features. There is no difference.

And the new iPhone is supposed to have LTE advanced. That's a great announcement but you can't use that in the United States. Our speeds are not that fast.
You do realize that it means more than just a number in your speed test app right? It enables things like VoLTE and the like.

All I know is that I took my phone to two places where I routinely got no service with my 6. Got service both places, LTE, even, no drop to 4G. I am THRILLED about this. Both places usually=boring meetings and without my phone....LOL!

Did you use the SIM the came with the phone or you swapped your old SIM into the new phone?
I was having trouble with my data connection when I was using my iPhone 6 SIM card in my 6s (they were both T-Mobile). I couldn't get connection at all in certain areas (but I could in others). Once I activated the SIM that came with the 6s, my data worked again. So sometimes weird stuff can happen if you're not using the right SIM.

Ha! I went to check the map for band 12, and saw that my county (San Diego) is the only major county in CA that isn't covered. Looks Cox cable is squatting on that spectrum. **** you, Cox Cable! >:O

Finally took my 6S around town today and noticed that as soon as my coverage would go down, band 12 LTE kicked in immediately :)

This is great for an unannounced area.

However, band 12 still doesn't reach into my house. :(
