Worldwide only option in Trends is a pain as it just comes up with loads of foreign (to me) info.

Hope that bugs sorted soon as I use it regular.

Did you try clicking the settings icon on the right hand side when you go in to trends? For me it gives me a list just like it used to.

I upgraded and I'm liking it - I still have access to the old one in case I decide I need to go back. The white bar at the top *might* be a bit too much, but we'll see if my eyes adjust. So far I'm quite liking it and I don't mind paying them when it's the best Twitter app out there... Miles above Twitteriffic IMO, and I have both. (I've spent way too much money on Twitter apps...)

maybe I'm missing something but how do I get notifications to work? not even seeing an option for tweet bot under the iOS7 settings tab

*I found it*

This app is basically a clone of Twitteriffic. Had i known that before pressing buy, i would have kept using Twitteriffic.

Huh, went looking because I was curious, and if anything I'd say that Twitteriffic has actually improved to try to match Tweetbot... (UI isn't quite as slick, though.) Last time I looked at it, it didn't have nearly as many features as Tweetbot does. They've improved a lot, but they still don't offer things like the ability to search your timeline or switch to a list of all the pictures your list has posted... And you can't change up the available tabs, either, which gives you the choice between search, retweets, lists, muted users and your own profile.

So yeah. I wouldn't say that they're clones of each other. Might be that you don't use some of the extra services Tweetbot has.

Love the app...

Looks good.

Flows smoothly.

But there's a "but"

Notifications don't work. And I've tried everything. Reset. Settings resent. re-install etc... everything. Anyone else having these issues?

I had the same problem. It had something to do with the old Tweetbot notifications. I turned them off within Tweetbot, and removed it from notification center. I also restarted my phone afterwards and the notifications started working! Hope this helps

So, i'm paying for the same app again w/ less features... because it LOOKS nice?

Hmmm... i'll wait until they update their apps across the board (iMac and iPad) before I consider this. Does the automatic timeline update still work at least? that's really my main concern?

Yep, it still works. Over time, very soon I think, Tweetbot 3 will match and exceed TB2 with features and usability. Tweetbot 2 is/was the best Twitter app, in my opinion, but 3 will soon be right on par.

I think the only way to toggle the readability view is in the Settings. There doesn't seem to be a way to toggle it for individual links, though, which makes me sad, because I prefer article view for some links but readability for others. Hopefully, they'll return that feature in a future update.

Never mind. I just came across this on the Tapbots website:

"How do I toggle the mobilizer in Tweetbot 3?
Tap and hold on the Navigation/Title bar."

So, if you turn Readability on, while you're at a link, if you just hold the title bar, it automatically switches in/out of Readability. So, problem solved! It just seems to be a hidden feature as I never would have figured that out otherwise. Really happy they didn't remove this feature!

I just deleted Tweetbot 3 from my iPhone.

I find all the white too much for my eyes and I also don't like the round avatars. Functionality is OK for me however.

For now I keep using Tweetbot 2 as I find this app much more pleasing. When the update comes out with the promised dark theme I will try Tweetbot 3 again :)

Mobilizer in Tweetbot 3

Anyone know how to toggle the readability view when you click a link? They got rid of the switch at the top.

I installed my old favorite Tweetlogix again and for me, their design is much nicer than that of Tweetbot 3. The light theme is better for my eyes and they also have two dark themes. On top of that you can set your own color scheme....

The only drawback for me is that Tweetlogix does not have an iMac version.

Anybody having issues with the app playing sounds? mine won't even though they are enabled under settings.

funny you mentioned it. sounds work fine for awhile, then seem to stop working randomly, then work again. thought i was going crazy. i was able to get the app to make its noise when you scroll to the top and drag down to release, but now its not. a phone reboot fixes it. kinda seems hit or miss.

and i paid for the upgrade since its my goto twitter app and use it everyday. i own both the ipad and iphone version and paid for both back when i first found it. i like the new app, as i was really looking forward to see what they were gonna do to the app since ios 7 came out. for me, $3 isnt that bad since i use it so much. for $4.99 though, it would be nice for that to be for a universal app.

Just tap on the website name from the top of the Readability view, for example "thenextweb.com". But tap and hold on the title bar is needed to switch back to readability view from the website view. Very unintuitive.

Hi

yes i tried that, on the faq on there site i just found this.

I can’t select a country in Trends.
Doh! Sorry, we’ll get it fixed.

Quite a bug for them to miss really

Is it just me, or is the official twitter app better? It has the "discover" tab that I really like. It shows me popular retweets, what others have marked as favorite and shows me trends.
Tweetbot doesn't have that. I hope they bring this feature at some point to their app..
I prefer the design of Tweetbot but I like twitter better. I also like the connecting lines showing answers to tweets. Twitter is better for me.

Do the "tap" sounds etc. work for you guys? My Tweetbot 3 is pretty much mute, except for the notification sounds... (in Settings I selected "Play All")

Being that I used Twitterffic for a short while, I noticed the similiarities between the two when I purchased Tweetbot 3 (I still prefer Tweetbot). However, one thing that Twitteriffic doesn't have is wifi streaming.

I think setting the Text Size in iOS to the smallest size possible works best with the new version of Tweetbot, but I still get one line of text less than with the same font size in the previous version of Tweetbot. I believe that would be because of bigger thumbnails of pics in the new Tweetbot's timeline. I think it'd be better if they changed their size to the one in v. 2.

How are you able to change the size of the text in v3.0 in Tweetbot? Or are you referring to it being preferable in v2.x?

I also don't love the white everywhere and it seems far less unique than v2. Hopefully the dark skin will add some more interesting UI enhancements.

If you go to Settings -- Text Size on iOS 7, you can change it and it will affect Tweetbot's text size as well. The next update of Tweetbot 3 will give you the option to change the font size within the app only.

A lot of the features that you guys wish it had won't come to tweetbot because of twitter. The ability to see who retweeted you among other things are not part of the API that they've released for third party devs.

Tweetbot gives you push notifications of mentions, DM's, retweets, favourites and follows.

Tweetbot allows you to view a list of tweets that have been retweeted and by who.
It also shows you who favourited your tweet but it doesn't show you a list of these. You would need to look at the details of the specific tweet within the app.

I love the app and the few things I miss I get from Twitter in email notifications and have Gmail auto file them in a folder in case I want to quickly see a list of activity.

Yeah, tweetbot gives you a lot more info than other apps, which I love. Too bad twitter won't let them put it in your "@" list. You gotta tap on your tweet to view them. But I don't know if I'd go back to twitter now.

Double-tap your profile icon to see favs and retweets by person from Favstar.

For some reason it doesn't show up for me. I don't know why. The info isn't correct on favstar. :/
