You are awesome! I used your links to get one of the last 3 iPads anywhere within 20 miles of Germantown, MD! I had to go to reston to get it and someone beat me to the 32G Black one I was aiming for but I still got a 64G White.

Thank you!

As of now the only one remaining in the area is a 32 White in Sterling. The system lists it as a 32G Black but they said it's white when I called.

I just got very excited to see that the Farmington Hills, MI Target showed black 32gb wifi in stock. Really!?!?!?!? Let's go buy a couple!

I hightailed it over there only to find out that there was an error in the distribution log. Not only did they not have them, they NEVER GOT ANY.

The girl checked again for me and she was well aware that it showed as in stock on the search site.

Oh well, at least there was a Taco Bell on the way home so I could make myself sick :) .

I guess the system is not infallible. It was worth a shot though.

I went to the same one yesterday around 6 after it showing available but there were none in stock, but the guy did say they had received 2 but sold them earlier.

Check the system today. I was just able to get a 32gb Wi-Fi at the Eastland target location. Had to get a family member to go up there and get it for me :)

Many thanks to the OP and all who posted links

Out of curiosity, I just called the Sterling store and they said they have none in stock... i guess this is becoming the luck of the draw :(

I'm betting that someone hit it at lunch. The inventory now shows out of stock.

What's funny is I got back to work and had 3 other employees ask where I managed to find one. I pointed them to the links and now they are hoping to hit paydirt. I think this area is tapped out though.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148a Safari/6533.18.5)

I checked online last night and no stores in the LA/Southbay area had any. I checked again this morning and numerous Targets had "limited availibility" for the white 64 wifi. Redondo Beach said this too but it also said "available" for the black 32 wifi.

I got there when they opened and there were two other people waiting who beat me to the department as their door was opened first. The clerk first said they only had iPad 1, but I looked in the case and pointed out that boxes inside were iPad 2s. She had no idea.

They had 2 32 black wifis and 1 64 white wifi. I guess limited availability means only one in stock. Anyways I was able to get a black one and the other guys bought the other two. They both had checked online also.

Haha, that was my experience as well while me and the employee were looking at the iPad case. To be fair, it doesn't say iPad 2 on the front anywhere, but to people like us it's rather obvious. :)

They also had shelf space for each of the models but just threw all of them in the same slot, even though that wasn't what model they were. Definitely have to get in the case to check each one and get the one you want.

guys, you'll be lucky to find any left at lunch time. These are currently in high demand.

Check at 6-7 am. That's your best chance!

Probably true. It is also lunch time, so I'm sure folks are dropping in to check stock.

That said, it encourages me somewhat that, however slowly, the small trickle of ipads to retailers continues. I ordered online late 3/11, so hopefully mine ships sometime in the next 2 weeks and it is a moot point for me unless I give my wife one now as opposed to this summer. Anyway, I hope we can help everyone get an ipad2 in their hands who really wants one, and not just the resellers. I understand reselling is capitalism so please do not bombard me about that b/c i'm ok that they did what they are free to do, I just would like to see people anxious to use an ipad2 get a hold of one.....

I doubt that many resellers post here. They may lurk but they don't post.
All we can hope is that the inventory links that an upstanding macRumor member posted are beneficial to an end user. They benefited me. It irritates me a little to think that folks who have not been able to find a new iPad2 are victims of the "flippers". I hope that next week apple floods the market so that these resellers get stuck with product. Karma.

I woke up today and check this site first lol and saw the list for inventory checking and found a store about 30 miles from me that has the 32gb (I already ordered a 16gb one from Walmart that will be here next week but I realized I needed more space, so not sure what to do with the 2nd one) lol

But THANK YOU! now I got the 32gb!

Sell it on ebay and make $150 on it. Just don't open it.

My local target shows a 32 gig black as avaliable, so i rushed over there to have the guy say that "the computer show apple sent us some but we havent gotten any apple boxes yet"

sounds fishy to me...what do you guys think i should do?
Check the DCPI number yourself at one of the end cap price scanner. There is a key pad on the scanner so you can type in the number. If it's in the store room it will say it on the screen,

You guys rock! Thanks so much for posting the links. I was able to find mine in Glendale Heights, IL (Chicago burb) this morning, only 20 miles from home. Around 11:30pm last night the inventory status changed for a few stores. Had to drop my daughter off at school and hope no one bought them before I got there at 9am. They had 2 black 32g wi-fi and 1 white 64g and I got one of the black ones. :D

Worked for me! I saw no availability for Black 64+3G AT&T yesterday, and late last night they popped up in 4 stores around the L.A.area. I got up uber early and was the first at the door. The clerk said that she only had White-64Gb+Verizon, but I asked if she could check her system and gave her the Target DCP number. She typed it in and her eyebrows raised. She said "let me go check" and came out with my Black 64+3G AT&T.

After my purchase, it took about 30 minutes before the inventory for that store changed to "Out of Stock" in the inventory checker, so beware - somebody may have gotten there before you unless you were on the doorstep at the time the store opened.

I live near by, just checked their inventory.. they are out of stock now. :(

Invalid DPCI?

Has anyone had any problems with the DPCI #'s being invalid? Searching for the model I want shows one local store as "Available". I called (twice, speaking to two different operators) and gave them the DPCI, but was told by both operators that the number was not coming up in the system.

I want to drive out and try punching it in the price scanner (or seeing if they have the iPad2 stacked in with the iPad1s) but it's 40 min out of my way so I wish I could get some confirmation they have them in stock.

At that same store, hitting #4 for the electronics department results in the phone ringing endlessly, so no dice there either.

Sigh...

I guess the links i posted came in handy for me today, I was able to get a white 64gb wifi model.

One just popped up for 32g black wi-fi only in Norridge...

Limited Availability - DIGITAL AUDIO Aisle E23

Norridge
4050 N Harlem Ave
Norridge, IL 60706
(708) 583-6980

Check again tonight. And check a bunch of different zip codes in the area. I checked 60611 for Chicago area, 60202 Evanston, 60462 (Orland Park) south burbs, 60193 for northwest/west burbs, 60045 for north burbs.

Is it possible for the targets to have them available when they show out of stock and their stock checker? Or is that the most accurate way to tell?

Thanks OP, I picked up the last 32gb wifi black and white at the Bowie, MD location.. i'm happy, now to cancel the phony best buy reservation scam

This info was brilliant - I tried the Batavia store this morning, but despite showing them the DCPI, etc. they maintained they did not have any. I probably should have been more forceful!

The Norridge store was basically on my way back from another meeting, so I sat through the meeting watching the status change from Available to Limited, but I got there in time and snagged the last 32GB Black WiFi. Everyone at Norridge was fantastically helpful and they actually had the stock out in the display. Looked like there were a few other types of models still there as of 2pm though.

Anyone in the Bay Area try Newark? I've been checking the target links since yesterday and that store consistently has either had "in stock" or "limited availability" since yesterday for the 32G wifi. I want to go check it out but its 30+ minutes away from me and no one is answering the phone in electronics (I've tried 10+ times).

The Target about 50 yards from where I work was showing stock of black and white 32GB WiFi models using the product checker online. I went there and they have only old ones in the case. Asked an associate for help and he said they got 5 in last week and that's all they've had.

I told him I had checked online and I had also checked in the store using the price checker and that there were some in the stockroom. He said there weren't but he would check for me. He entered the white number and they had 3. He entered the black number and they had 2. He was shocked and said I had "schooled" him.

I now own a black and a white 32 GB WiFi. Was in and out in 5 minutes.
