Target Information

In case it's not been covered in this massive thread, there is an excellent Target app.

I used it to search with my iPhone 4 and found out they just got seven in at one location and presently have no line.

I got the store mgr on the phone, he agreed to sell me 4, took my credit card which I gave him permission to charge them on, so now I am set. I will be off to pick them up now.

My reseller is thrilled as well. These babies are selling for really big bucks out of the country. It's amazing how Apples got people frothing at the mouth for these.

Thanks to Apple I'm finally recovering the Apple Tax I've paid to have all this new Apple Gear.

I went to this store on friday day and they were all out. It seems that the inventory checker is wrong for this store.

Are you sure it was the iPad 2? I have the target app and the iPad 2 isn't listed on it, just the original iPad.

If so how did you find the iPad 2 using the app? I tried a regular search and one using the item number and nothing shows up.

And that prick is just stirring it cos the target app doesn't find and iPad 2's listed.

I sure hope Karma exists because many people are in for some fun times if it does.

Even if it doesn't, they are probably miserable people anyways and probably are treated as such by most people (which they deserve).

You have to use the DPCI numbers in the app to look for ipad 2. Can't search it by name.

Let us know how this turns out. My friend who works for Target was explaining to me that this has been the common confusion this last week. People search for iPad on the App and find all sorts of inventory, only to come in and find that their search results were for iPad uno. They will not be showing inventory for iPad 2 on their app for at least a month. Good luck though!

Just use the DPCI in the app, and you're good to go.

That's because there are none near you (w/in 15 miles I think). If stock shows up, they come up on the app just like the website. It just only gives you stores if they currently have any stock.

I'm pretty sure I'm in the same area as you (LA, right?), and haven't found the ipad I want anywhere (16GB or 32GB white wifi) for the past week. Either help a geek out or stop buying all of them please :(
 
There is some abiguity when using the app. That's why I made sure to get the store manager on the phone. Once confirmed he did indeed have iPad 2's I authorized him to charge my card. That way I knew they would not be mistakenly sold before I arrived. I also know that if in the event there was a problem upon my arrival, I have the protection of my credit card company on my side.

All turned out very well and I picked up the iPad 2's I had arranged for.

One thing I do know about all these big box stores is they cannot afford top quality employees in all departments, especially if they must spend time on the phone with people that waste their time with questions of dubious value.

I minimize my risk by connecting with a manager that has a vested interest in the store. They know exactly what is happening.

Gotta run, my app shows 3 at another store.

I havent been able to find a single 3G of any sort in the Charlotte area since launch...even SouthPark Apple store has only had 64GB for the most part. Anyone have any leads on Targets likely to get them? I am losing it refreshing the stinking inventory tracker...lol.

Dpci numbers and iPad 2 searches do not work in the app.
It did a few days ago but it's intermittent what works.
iPad 2 wifi did bring up the 64gb white one but that is gone as of yesterday.

How do search in the app. For eg 057-10-1832 does not being back anything in the app.

I'm assuming you were talking about that actual tool, but the app works fine with DPCI. The info in the app is pulled from the exact same place as the website. It just works a little differently.

You can only search by where you are. The app uses your GPS to search the closest Targets. But instead of returning a list of every store, it only shows results if a store has the item in stock.

So if it says no results found, it's not in stock near you. If a store has it, it will show up.
