same thing happened to me. i went to the store (west Hollywood) and they said they have none. I showed them the site tracker saying available and she still said nope. I waited an hour just to see if anything came and nothing. No luck.

I installed python 3 first then realized it's the wrong version. I deleted it from the application folder and installed 2.7 but I'm still getting errors when I try to run the tracker. I didn't see an uninstaller for python 3. Any suggestions?
I don't think the online inventory is real time, but I've heard it's updated every hour or two. Generally, from previous posters, "Available" indicates more than 1 in stock, "Limited Availability" indicates 1 in stock.
You're the paying customer, so it's in their best interest to check. If it shows "Available" on your phone/computer, and there isn't any on the sales floor, and they've checked in the back and haven't found anything, then they sold whatever inventory they did have. But be persistent - the sales associates don't always know what's going on in the back or what deliveries have been made.
Excellent, glad it's working! My store only received an initial shipment on Saturday the 12th and haven't received anymore until today. It's just become a game of patience until more regular inventory can be achieved over the next few months.

Atlanta has seen big shipments the past two days (at Target and Apple Store).
I'm assuming it will slow down as other regions get theirs.
No idea why certain stores have seen 15 come in today while others haven't seen any. Although the store that got five yesterday had only a single one on launch day.

Target stock checker for the win! I've been prowling the the stock site for several days. Yesterday I saw some pop up available in the middle of the day, but by the time I got out of work, they were all gone. Today I saw some pop up again at the same store. I was able to get out of work in time to make it over there and snag one of the last 2. The last one got picked up as I was checking out.

Thanks to this thread - picked up one for me and one for my son at the Inglewood, CA Target today (White 16GB Wifi). Availability showed 0 all morning. Right around 11:45AM, I began to see "In Stock" for a couple of models.
Drove to Target by 12:30 and was able to buy 2.

Either Target is lying to me or the site is wrong. It said one Target store had iPads so I go there and they said sorry we don't have any. I tell them about the site and they had no clue about it and said sorry we are out.
I ran into the same thing the other day. I even typed the number into the price checker there which said in stock room. They said they were out and would not look. I think some of the employees really just have no idea or do not care.
The only Target that has gotten any in Atlanta the past 2 days was Marietta East. Which just isn't close to me when I'm at work, well technically none are close to me at work. I went yesterday and missed out as the last one was being rang up. I'm hoping the Perimeter store will get some tomorrow!
Did you notice that both times the store got the "availability" it wasn't until between 11 and noon. As opposed to last week target was posting "availability" middle of the night/ready for opening. Which really sucks since I can only go for opening sales

I'm from NYC so I'm sure I don't have to tell you how hard it is to go to an apple store to get one of these things with all the scalping and people who have the time to camp out and wait for days! I ordered only one online on 3/11 thinking I was the only one in my fam that wanted one but then my brother wanted one and by then it was too late to order for the 3-5 time frame. So, I checked Target's inventory today as I was leaving work in Brooklyn and decided to check the Brooklyn stores to see if they had any 64GB AT&T Models. One store had "limited availability" so I ran down there and was told they had no 3G models. The guy behind me was trying to get 3 32GB Black Wifi models before the Target employee said SORRY 2 PER PERSON!!! His card would later be declined. Probably because he's been buying multiple models on it! Karma??? I sure hope so. Anyway, before I left I decided to show the guy my phone saying their inventory had a 64GB available and if he could please double check and make sure he didn't have one. He scanned the bar code of where it was supposed to be displayed and there it was. He said we got one left! I said Thank You and waited by the register for it!! These aren't apple employees so you have to double check with them when they say they don't have the one you want. The worst that can happen is they say no they don't have it. They had a few 32GB Black WiFi models and a couple people waiting to pay for them behind me. So if you really want one keep checking because you never know when one will show up!! I'm just speculating but it may well have been that those Target employees have gotten so much crap (screaming & yelling from rude & persistent customers these past few days) that they decide to give the same crap back by not bothering to go look for them.
Which Brooklyn location was this? The one I went to told me only 1 per person. Not 2.
Just wanted to call out what an incredible thread this has been...one of the best I've ever seen on this site. It's a great example of folks helping each other out, from the OP who gave the idea to look for the DPCI, to jreuschl who gave a heads up on the online inventory checker, to jmgore75 who came up with the script. And then everyone who gave updates on their Target locations to make it easier for others in the same area. Pretty great teamwork. We may not be able to "outwait" the scalpers at the Apple store, but dammit we can outwit them.

I lucked out and got a few in the Inland Empire today. There were 2 stores carrying the 16 black wifi. I wanted 3 (me, gf and parents) but the limit was one so I went to both stores and came home happily with 2 iPads today.

Guys thanks for the info a uk visitor to Florida just scored two White 16gb wifi at Kissimmee West before anyone say scalper one is for the wife
Also they stock checker was not showing wifi only I originally agent for a black 16gb 3G AT&T but they had none they have I would say 8 left in various type defiantly 16gb 3G verizon and 16gb wifi only

Which Target did you find that in? There has been none of them in inventory in a big radius from my area. Too bad we didn't find the one we wanted, but I think I may just stick with the WiFi even if Best Buy calls me for the 3G.

I'm in Tx, the target in my area hasn't restocked since I purchased mine.
I'm so happy I had ordered one off apple and it wasn't going to come till April 6th. Saw this thread and I found out that my target only had 1 16gb wifi so I rushed there and got the last one. Then I came home and canceled my online order. What an amazing day thanks to this thread
