A few still available in Grand Forks, ND

I've been using the links from page 8 for the last several days and finally found my preferred model (only 150 miles round trip).

White 64GB ATT showed "available" at about 1:00 am last night, so I got there at opening and there was no line. They actually had 4 White 64GB ATT, by the time I got home they were "sold out."

Still showing "available" on White 32GB ATT and "limited availability" on Black 64GB ATT for the Grand Forks Target.

Thanks everyone! Happy Hunting!

Got 32gb white 3G

I went to target yesterday and was able to get a 32gig white 3G AT&T . Wilkes-barre pa. I spoke to their elctronics mgr and he said they have seemed to be getting shipments in early in the week. Mon/tues. He said they don't know exact numbers or models until they arrive but in my store he said has been ranging from 10-20 per shipment. Also he said limited availability- 2 or less. Available- at least 3.

Just some story with Target in Chantilly, VA. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

After seeing quantities were getting updated around 10:30am, I went to the local Target at about that time. This store hasn't gotten much stock at all compared to other local stores, but, it's the closest to work. I plugged into the DCPI at 10:30, as I had been since about 9:30, showed no stock. Waited about 5 minutes and at 10:35, it showed AVAILABLE.

I walked up to the guy working at electronics and said, "Do you have any iPads in stock?" and he said "Nope." That's when I pointed out the DCPI showing available on my phone via the stock link. He went and double checked with his scanner gun and said "Oh, an hour ago we didn't have any."

That's when he made the call to the back and the guy came back and said "Yep, we just got in 20. They'll be up front in 15 minutes."

The electronics kids (I can say that because they're definitely younger than me) were talking about how they get calls all day and they don't know how people know that stock is available before they do. The guys who work there really don't know anything as far as initial morning stock. In fact, they weren't even putting stock on the floor, they were letting the DCPI stay active, and if you asked, they kept a paper inventory at the checkout counter.

This is the second store I've seen in Northern VA that updated around 10:30am on consecutive days. If you're striking out other places, think about going to Target about 10:30 and see if you get some luck. Just keep in mind, you'll probably know more than the people working there.

I was able to get a 64gb wifi in white yesterday in Northern California (Redwood City). Has anybody in the area been able to find a place that has black ones? I've checked for the past 3 or 4 days and I've only seen white ones so far.

Ah, ha! I kept seeing Upper Providence have stock on and off, but didn't make it down to check that one out.

Montco got about 5 more this morning, 64G Black Verizon's.

I'm interested in that config. By Montco are you referring to the Upper Providence? I don't see any on the checker, were they out for sale?

Yeehaw!

Checked and checked the area stores this morning-- finally 30 minutes ago the AT& T model popped up as available.
Raced to Target and there they all were! Kid behind the counter had just loaded them in the display case.

Willowbrook, IL Target has of this moment:
16G wifi x 5
32G wifi x 3
64G At & t x 2

All in white. Hurry!!

Thank you, OP!!

anyone seen any stock in orange county area today? im watching for some 3g models (any size but prefer a 32)
i made the mistake of settling for just a wifi... anyone interested in a 32 black wifi trade? of course i would make up the price difference with cash. looking for a 3g

Anyone have luck in the Buffalo, NY Area? In the past week I have only seen 2 of 8 stores updated to "available", and both were sold out by the time i got there

Thx to the script i was able to get one today. I wanted to buy two since my brother wanted one but Target sale person said they are not allow to sale more than one. Oh well..

I got greedy and bought two 64gb ATt whites but shouldnt have. Now how to unload it in staten island area

Thanks to the Target inventory links and the python script, I was finally able to buy one today! I got the e-mail a little past 9am PST, and went on my break at 10am. Got to the store at about 10:20am and made a beeline for the iPad aisle. Sure enough they had some stock. They had about 4 or 5 black 16GB wifi only. I was tempted to buy 2, but my wife would have killed me. The guy at the Electronics department was surprised to see me. He told me that they just received those an hour ago and he just got done putting them on the sales floor. Wanted to know if I was the guy who called and I said no that I had checked online. He had no idea you could check online. I told him to come here and check it out. He said this is only their second shipment, and they don't know they're getting them until UPS arrives and deliver them along with other UPS deliveries.

Anyway, a big kudos to all who have provided helpful information. I haven't been on the hunt (refused to stand in early lines, etc.), but I saw an opportunity and I took it. I suspect the remaining 3 or 4 left will go quickly, although this store is kind of a sleeper store during the day (and coincidentally closest to my house).

Target 3 mi. from me showed "limited availability" on white 64gb. Showed up, saw only one in the case and asked the guys at the desk. They said "No, we only have the 1st generation". After I informed them they had a 2nd gen. in the case they acted surprised and got it out for me.

Much thanks to jmgore75 for his python script. Worked perfectly here in Portland, OR. Got the availability email at 9:43am for a Target store 30 minutes away (Cascade Station). Thought about it for about 5 minutes, then hopped in the car. Got a black 16GB ATT and will soon cancel my Apple Store order (est shipping is April 19!).

Didn't try buying more than 1 as I only need one. There was 1 guy at the counter ahead of me, waiting for the 64GB ATT to be brought out from the back, and as I left there were 3 people behind me.

The key to this is to wait for the status to go from "Unavailable" to "Available", and then get to the store within 30min to 1hr after the status change. Otherwise, there's a chance that the "Available" status will be stale. Also, I wouldn't bother calling, just get in the car and start moving as soon as you know the status changed. Call from the car if you need to.

Also helps if there's more than one model available. The Target store I went to had 3 models go "Available", which meant at least 6 iPads for sale.

Good luck to all (except you scummy resellers).

Man, glad to see another member from Oregon. I'm in the Eugene are myself, it seems that no stores around have gotten any stock since last tuesday (and that was only one target, and it was gone in about 20 minutes according to the inventory checker) I didn't have the money to pick one up last week, still waiting for my taxes, but that won't matter if the stores around here don't start getting some product in =/.

if anyone could help me here, i'd really appreciate it.

i've called several target stores in michigan and even though their stock levels indicate "available" or "limited availability," every single time they vehemently denied any in stock. am i missing something? they've had them "available" for a long time now...

earlier today my local Target online inventory tracker said Available, I called they said they did not have any and have not gotten any, just checked again now it says "out of stock" so who knows

i'm on the other coast, and most stores in palm beach county has been zero since friday. maybe tomorrow? plus, i've been getting no news about 16 GB ipads anywhere on this thread.
Okay, well it looks like Friday is a shipment day for Target. Odd that almost everywhere else has daily shipments except Florida? Any other Floridians have luck?

I checked today (Tuesday) and the Millenia and Waterford Lakes (Orlando) stores both had white 64gb AT&T models and each had white 32gb wifi and white 16gb wifi respectively. Millenia is closer to me so I hauled ass and kept checking the inventory on my phone. I checked one last time before I went into the store and both models still said "Available." I asked the guy and he said they had 5 units and sold all of them as soon as they came out of the back. I asked him to check the numbers and the 32gb wifi said there was one left but he assured me they had already sold it. I'm pretty mad...especially because the one I ordered on day 1 has been checked into the local facility in Hong Kong 4 nights in a row. FedEx is the worst.

yeah, it's been showing available for about a week now. i haven't seen it go to out of stock yet. anyone else?

Found one a 16 gig, 3g black at target. I went ahead and picked it up even tho I don't want 3g, and I wanted black. It was at the target store in clearwater, fl they had 3 left. When I got home it showed none available again. They became available at 1:00pm and when I got back home at 1:45 none available was the status. I just used the links on page 8. Thank you to everyone who started this page. It was a lot of help. Good luck everyone. :)

What application do you use to edit the TargetIpadStock.py file?

I'm a python novice, but when I downloaded and installed python 2.7.1, it comes with an editor called "IDLE" that works fine.

You can, as a last resort, open the .py file with Notepad or Word, but the formatting is kinda screwy. Use IDLE, I found it very easy to use.

Scored a 64GB Black Verizon that just showed up as Available in the Emeryville-Oakland Target—apparently someone had a voucher for it but declined to get it?

I wanted 32GB AT&T, but at this point I'll take it!

has anyone had any luck w/ the target inventory search for Raleigh NC? I've been looking for a black 64GB wifi, and nada for almost a week now...what the heck!!

This really blows, online is taking forever, and can't find any locally with walmart, bestbuy or target. arghhh

I picked up a White 64gb GSM at the Apex, NC Target at 12:15p today. So, here's my story.

I ran across this thread last Friday. I tried waiting in line Sat. morning at the Apple Store. Arrived at 5:50am, and the line already had at least 50 people in it. At 8am, we found out that except for the very first person in line the people at the head of the line were resellers. (ugh!) So, I refused to wait in line any longer. I trusted everyone on this thread and kept checking the Target inventory around my area. Yesterday, some White 64gb CDMA's showed up, but nothing else. I was getting discouraged when I didn't see any stock changes throughout this morning. Then, about 12:05, I checked, and one store had 64gb GSM's. I jumped in my car, drove 20mins, ran to the back of the store, and the security guard (yes, the security guard...) asked if I was looking for iPad. He said they only had 64gb. I pumped my chest and said, 'That's me!' I'm now the proud owner of an iPad 2. For those of you who are getting discouraged, DON'T! I have friends who ordered on launch day who are jealous because they still haven't received their iPad 2! So, even though you're still looking, keep that in the back of your mind!

Now, to go write my review! :D
