local target only has 5 of the white 64GBs, another store w/ no ipads at all.

Same story here

-"Any idea of inventory?"
-"We will have 5"

They have been getting calls all day and expect a line, not even worth going down I dont think.

There's no walmart thread that I can find so gonna post here:

I am first in line at Walmart, been here since about 3:15. Some people asking about the ipad2. Was told they don't have line area set up, but first people to counter at 5pm get them.

Only 2 white 64GB wifi, and 2 black 64GB wifi in stock today. So, I am gonna get me a white 64GB!!!!!

Its been a long wait already....

I am tickled pink with my local Target (Springhurst store in Louisville, KY). Walked in at 4:40 and received a ticket for 16GB wi-fi. They only had 10 16GB and 5 64GB wi-fi models. I was out of the store at 5:05

called my target, said she only had 5 of the 16GB wifi model. i asked if she thought it would be worth going down there in an attempt to get one (im at work) she said they have a meeting in 30 mins or so about the sale, shes not sure whats changing, but if i wanted to call her back in 30 mins or so she will have a better idea.

we have a few best buys and an apple store... but im honestly looking for the least amount of people/traffic - if target doesnt have them ill probably just wait a bit. she mentioned they will have another shipment for sunday.

walked in 4:50pm, got a ticket for ipad #4 of a total of #5, was out the door by 5:10pm

feel bad for all those people waiting in line all day.

A lot of people didn't stick around at my local Target when they heard they only had 5 total, of the 32GB wifi & 3G (AT&T) White model. I was first in line, all 5 sold within minutes. Other Targets in the area had a similar number of devices- just a different model. Apple Stores & Best Buys here had massive lines so I am glad I "camped out" in the patio section since lunch to secure my spot. :D

I called and found a line was already forming for BB. They are said to have 80 iPads of all the various types.

I called Target and they said they had 10 iPads, didn't know what kind, but they were handing out vouchers now.

When I got to Target, they really only had 5 white 32 wifi iPads. I was able to get a voucher. The second one they gave out. I have to be there between 5 and 6 to get it.

Then I went to BB and they had about 20 in line @ 1:30. Waiting for vouchers...

No smart covers @ Target. I'm hoping to be able to pick one up from BB after I pick up the iPad.

all three of the targets closest to me only had 5 ipads each. i got to the one that was selling the 16 gb at 4:20 pm, and they were already sold out, even though i was under the impression of first come, first serve when i called on the phone about 90 minutes beforehand. i didn't get one, and i'll have to wait until next shipment.:(

Walked into Target at 4:45, got iPad #5 of 5. They only had 5 black 64gb. I wanted a white 16gb. Oh well.

I just talked to my son, he's at a Target store in Las Vegas. He's #1 in line.
They have 15, all black, WiFi only. 5 of each size. He's stoked, only 70 minutes to go. :)

Ya I don't get the quantities either. When I received my voucher I was told there were 3 white 32gig's. Whether that meant total or how many vouchers they had left I don't know. The voucher has #8 on it which is what I assume is the 8th iPad in their inventory. Of how many I do not know but it sounds like 10 is the magic number for Target locations.

Funny. I was at Best Buy to pick up the iPad. Short line out front so I waited.

There is target store right next door. Three employees from Target came walking over to the BB line with tickets to sell the iPads they had in stock since no one was in the store to buy them, or whatever stock they had remaining.

Store I'm going to claims to only have 5 -- I had to wait for the MGR to print out the tickets.

At 2pm, my Target claimed they were expecting one of each model, possibly more but they didn't know, and didn't know when they'd be in.

I got there just after 4pm, was #8 in line. As of 10 til 5, they still didn't have any in hand, know where they were, or know how many they'd have.

A few minutes after 5pm, the FedEx truck finally arrived and they had... five white 64gb wi-fis. I'm not sure a single person out of the 20 in line wanted one of those, although I'm guessing they managed to get rid of them to people who decided any iPad was better than no iPad. The rest of us hightailed it out to see if the Best Buy next door had any, but they were sold out by then.

I'm rather annoyed at the guy who told me one of each model, b/c if he hadn't said that I would have gone to Best Buy in the first place. They got a little under 100 in. Still don't know if I'd've gotten one, but at least I'd have a shot at a model I wanted.

Heh, you aren't in Evanston, IL, are you? B/c like I said above, I'm not sure anyone in line at my Target actually wanted the single model they got in, and there was a BB next door that sold out before any of us could get over there.

The Target distribution seems to have been a disaster.
