Planning to take my 64gb 1st gen in. I've been finding more and more apps the kids want that don't work on it. Need to get a new one.

Finding a store

Use this link, not the Target mobile page which is inaccurate:

http://www.target.com/store-locator/find-stores#?lnk=gnav_findastore

Check the box for Target Mobile.

Even better, just call and ask. The Target phone menus don't even list the mobile section as one you can connect to, so ask for eletronics and have them transfer you.

Did this yesterday myself, and my iPad 1 even had 2 decently dented corners (but no cracks thankfully). All it needs to do is power on and have no cracks. They don't even want your AC adapters, although this is common for safety reasons.

Did your screen have any scratches? I don't have any cracks in my iPad 1's screen, but it does have light scratches from use.

I'm not from the states, but if you consider exchange rates, you'd get equal or more selling your cheapest Gen1 to someone from our "craigslist equivalent".

Anyhow, mine is wallmounted and providing a beautiful touch interface for my home automation system :)

I was able to trade in my first gen iPad and get a iPad air 32 GB (the last air they had). Keep in mind their stock on airs is severely limited. The only color in store is white (for now anyways) and most of the base models have been picked over due to the extra $20 off sale on that model only.

Happy I got one but I really wanted the black, oh well, can't complain about a $200 discount.

I am a Target team member in the Twin Cities and can happily report that my 32GB first gen iPad got exchanged for $200 towards a new iPad mini for the wife.

The Target Mobile kiosks are actually run by a company called Brightstar, but they are in nearly every Target store as well as some of the smaller format expanded grocery stores. Don't mind the store locator, the Target website breaks in some fashion all the time.

if you do it online and use promo code novipad200

It will bump the Gift card from $65.00 to $200.00

Im still trying to figure out if they accept ipads with engravings.

it was a gift..

The disclaimer I read was it had to power on and no cracks in the screen. I don't think you will have any issues with the engraving.

You got lucky, they would only let me use the card to buy an iPad with right then.

Thats odd, I didn't have to buy an iPad (I did) they just gave me the gift card. Both my wife and myself did this yesterday. And there wasn't any stipulation on having to spend it on an iPad. and nothing on the target trade in site says anything about having to buy an iPad

click on the the red box that says get at least $200 trade in

This is awesome! Just left Target with a $200 gift card!!
Good bye original iPad!!
