The store locator search on the website does not currently work.

What you should do is view ALL Target locations in your state, and go find the stores near you, click on Details, and if there's a mobile department it will have a number listed.

we took advantage of this yesterday. I had a 1st gen 16gig, online it said it'd be worth $65, but in-store they gave me the $200 - I probably could've used the card for anything, I don't know if the sales guy would've cared. Anyway, I bought the mini - on sale for $329, so I paid $129 for it, plus they give you a $25 gift card.

We also traded in our 4S for new phones - my 32gig was worth $140, plus a $25 bonus coupon, so basically $165. My wife's 4S 16gig screen had a few big cracks in it, still they gave her $81.

So go to any Target store and they just give you a $200 gift card?

Seems like a great deal for my iPad 1 32GB Wi-Fi model.

Yup I'm gonna try to trade in my first gen iPad 16gb tonight. Funny I was thinking about selling it the other week. $200 Target GC is great!!

The store locator thing isn't working right. Even if you just search for a store it only returns NC stores. I called my local Iowa Target and confirmed this is live.

The MINIMUM you will get is a $200 gift certificate for any iPad trade in. Newer models may get you more $$. The gift card is usable for anything at Target.

I'm chargin' the 1st gen when I get home and trading that thing in. :D

Same here (from Chicago). Something must be messed up, or otherwise this offer isn't what it seems.

Get your local target number (google) and give them a call. My store wasn't listed either so I called and they have a mobility store and they are accepting the trade ins for gift cards.

Just left Target with $800 from 4 gen 1 iPads (varying capacities and one with celullar). What a deal!!

Do you need the box, cables, charger to do the trade in or can you trade in just the unit?

I really don't want to give up my first gen iPad. It's useless, but... it's also a First Gen iPad.

Useless??? Unless you are wasting your time playing games on it, an 1G iPad is still a very useful device. Mine still gets hours of use a week and I have a 4G one too.
If only apple hadn't crippled it by not letting you install iOS6.

Holy smokes! Sweet deal. Target basically has everything too, so you could buy another iPad, a different tablet, lawn furniture, cookware, even some groceries. :D

Is it worth turning in an iPad 2 - 32G for the $200. Then I could get my kid a mini with it. The mini would be the original mini with 16G.

The mini or mini with retina display is on sale for $329. The mini without retina should be $299. I am thinking about trying this tomorrow and trading my iPad 2 for a mini.

For online store as well?

Can the gift card be used for the online store as well? I'm worried if I trade mine in they wouldn't have the model in stock I want. Or how long is the gift card good for so I can wait until they get what I want in stock? For me it is a really good deal.. 1st gen 16GB wi-fi only, still use it nearly every day and is like new.

So when you trade your iPad in, you don't have to buy a new iPad right?

Or is the $200 automatically going in for a new iPad?

I called a Target store, and they said you HAVE to use the $200 towards a new iPhone 5S. This is so misleading, it doesn't mention it anywhere on their http://targettradeinprogram.com website including the promotion and the small print. You can't use the credit for anything else.
