Plugged in my Tascam US-122 directly into my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8), rebooted in 32-bit mode (held keys 2 & 3 on my keyboard while re-booting)... and there came the green light on my US-122! No need for a powered USB hub.
Thanks for all your help! MacRumors Forum rock! ;o)

I have an imac 27" purchased in 2011 running Lion and the US-122 3.40 driver. The Tascam US-122 works for me in Garage Band if I boot the machine in 32-bit mode (hold down 3 and 2 on the keyboard while the machine boots).

wow! this is totally amazing! it worked for me. i have tascam us 122, mac book pro, snow leopard! i didn't have to buy a usb hub. thank u so much :) xx

32 bit boot does the trick

Thank you, Mac Rumors forum!

Having read this entire thread today from the start, I finally found the pot of gold – 32 bit mode.

I rebooted my MB Pro 17" Early 2011 running 10.6.8, with the Tascam 3.40 driver package, in 32 bit mode and my old US122 (original version) came alive. It now works perfectly, connected to one of the laptop USB ports (no hub necessary).

It seems that powered hub, Rosetta and all that were just blind alleys.

Booting in 32 bit mode (holding down '2' and '3' while booting) does the trick. Thanks again to the guys who posted this nugget!

Genius!

Im running Mac osx 10.6.8 leopard and this download for the drivers is the one. Many many thanks low blow! I have had the tascam us-122 for years and was never able to use it before. Now I have no problems thanks to you. :D

hi folks,
i had the same problems: no recognizing of the us-122....
make the following steps:
unplug the us-122 usb, clear everything from the us-122 from your mac, installer, drivers, updates; EVERYTHING!
shut down all applications, then go to the tascam-page:

http://www.tascam.com/products/us-122;9,15,68,19.html

and install the 3.40-version and plug the us-122 to usb
...and have fun again!
