Taylor Swift is an artist she is the artist of the moment no one special to a lot of people except teens there is a lot of streaming service out there I use Spotify and others, not everyone listens to Taylor Swift never bought any of her albums or ever will I'm sure she has her fans like a lot of artists, competition is good stop talking about taking down Spotify itll never happen lets hope apple music doesn't flop.

For those who don't know who Taylor Swift is or why she's so popular, are you trolling or do you seriously not know? I'm going to assume you're trolling. She's probably the biggest name in the world right now. Do you know Beyonce? She's basically a white version of Beyonce but with greater appeal.

If she does this and it gets a bunch of exclusives and/or streams of other artists and albums that aren't usually on board with streaming, it'll be huge for Apple. It'll either be the end for Spotify or Spotify will be forced to get rid of their free tier.

You might want to check the charts around the world if you believe TS is the biggest name in music around the world. I understand she is huge in the U.S.

No, the fact that Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon was on the Billboard Top 200 for 741 straight weeks from 1973 to 1988 is unreal. 8 months pales by comparison. Appetite for Destruction, another fairly big album spent 147 weeks, almost 3 years on the Top 200, from 1987 to 1989.
how about Journey's Greatest Hits? released in 1988, and I think it's still in the top 200

Says a lot about the state of pop music today that the media seems to think if Taylor Swift does it then everything is right in the world. Ugh!

Taylor Swift crushed Apple and she didn't even break a sweat.

She is Supergirl.

You're joking right? Apple only wins with this deal. In fact they won either way! They managed to get an artist who so far shunned streaming like the plague to sign on. They will make far more now than they would've before. Lol! Hat tip Apple for making it look like you listened and cared!

Sort of related, but Spotify just played a blinder. Just had a notification that AC/DC have arrived on Spotify today. On the launch day of Apple Music, one of Apple's exclusives (I believe AC/DC only had their music available digitally on iTunes before today?) is no longer exclusive.

The availability of the AC/DC catalogue was one of the reasons I was going to try Apple Music. Not so bothered now.
