I tweeted out to the TD Bank Twitter account a few days back, since I was considering switching banks if they didn't support Apple Pay soon, and they (vaguely) responded that it was being worked on:

They must have some internal memo that no one can say anything really. Because I asked about Apple Pay via their website (where it says all questions answered within 24 hours). Been a week and no response. Its like they are scared to say anything due to some internal corporate instructions.

Reply to that guy's tweet and say -- how about a little more detail?

Also asked on Twitter multiple times actually (back when Apple Pay was first announced and also recently) and I got similar responses to you

I'd love to see TD Bank accepted, but what do you want them to say.. "No, we're not going to support it". Of course they're going to say they're always working to make things better.

Rogers/Fido in Canada say the same line whenever they're asked about wifi calling on iOS 8.

They can be a little more candid. Here's the "corporate speak" answer to the question of whether TD Bank will support Apple Pay. This is posted on their website forum (about 6 people asked a similar Apple Pay question and this is the non-answer provided):

"Thanks for stopping by TD Helps. We understand that you want your technology to match your banking We are working diligently with our partners to evaluate the Apple Pay service for our Customers. As always, TD is committed to enabling our Customers to bank whenever, wherever and however they want. We encourage you to stay tuned for updates about this as TD Bank makes it a practice to evaluate new mobile functionality from a wide variety of companies, including Apple Corporation. Thanks again for stopping by TD Helps and have a great night."

Okay, so what exactly is being evaluated and what does that entail? Who are the partners? What is the time-table. Basically this is a publicist crafted "answer" that says nothing. And explains why if you call them and ask you get an answer of basically - "huh"?

People need to relax, I know you want to use your NFC capabilities but in reality Apple pay isn't even widely accepted. What's the hurry to go buy a cheeseburger at McDonald's using your phone?

This!
If TD do in fact roll out Apple Pay before all other major Canadian banks then byebye CIBC.

I called CIBC credit cards today for another matter and asked if they were going to support Apple pay. They hadn't even heard of it. Then I asked if there was a number or website where i and the million other iPhone users could go to voice our desire for the service and was told no but the calls are monitored so they should know. Lol

Whoever you talk to is either A) lieing B) not very informed of what's been happening internally. :p
I actually tweet them few hours later after Apple Pay announced and I saw wasn't the only one asking them :D

NOW - the thread title is accurate . . .

Just got this from TD Bank today (this is official):

"We're pleased to let you know that TD has entered into an agreement with Apple to ensure Customers will be able to enjoy this new technology [Apple Pay] ASAP! Please stay tuned for any updates and enjoy your day."

I'm excited, but let me ask.. Is this TD Bank, or TD Canada Trust?

Thanks for the info!

So Toronto Dominion supports it in the U.S.

Now when is Toronto Dominion going to support it in Toronto?

At a meeting today. No specific launch date as of yet but it will be in December for TD US

The TD CIO said he's expecting 2016 for Apple Pay in Canada. I'm going to go ahead and say that CIBC will probably be among the first with Apple Pay with or without TD.

CIBC and Tangerine have been ahead of the game when it comes to mobile banking. The others have been at least 6-12 months behind. RBC is working on their own wearable payment device so I'd like to know what their position is.
