No, pro denotes professional which means "someone who makes money at their craft." Can someone make things that they can sell using this machine? Yes, absolutely. Can you? Maybe you have needs that aren't met by this machine, in which case there's a whole line of more expandable MacBook Pros to suit you.
By your definition a pencil is a "Pro" tool.
I mean really, why did they ever bother calling any of their computers just "Macbooks" seeing as it's technically possible to make money with a calculator even. Does that make it a Pro Calculator?
The "professional" market Apple used to cater to was the Audio/Video one and that does NOT mean it's made for DIY hobbyists at home. Sure, they might buy one, but a "Pro" product used to mean it was designed for those in the industry (either Audio production/mastering or video production/mastering with software like Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro, respectively).
I would agree that Apple NOW seems to want everyone to think they're a "Pro" and so they renamed their entire line to "Pro" products, thereby devaluing the entire name of "Pro" in the line just Lucasfilm did with their THX line (by enabling anyone with the money for the fee to get the logo, the logo has zero meaning anymore and is therefore essentially USELESS).
Likewise, Apple has removed the professional from the professional lines and now everyone and everybody is a pro and thus the least common denominator and every crap toy they make will soon be called "Pro". Get ready for the iPhone Pro and the iPad Pro and the Airport Express Pro and Genius Pro at the Pro Apple Store Pro Pro.
