Of course I do and hence why I am trying not to discuss it.

I am not the one trying to turn this into a religious debate. Surely you can separate football from his "religion".

If Tebow was not 7-1 as the starter, then all this talk about him would be non-existant. End of story. Personally, his religion is of little matter to me. However, his performance on the Broncos is of interest as I live in Colorado.

Duke- Tebow injected religion into the game with his ad for the AFA. If he wanted to keep that separate, then he should not have done an ad for a religious group that has done immeasurable harm in the US during an NFL function. He made that choice to politicize himself. He deliberately injects religion into football, not us. But, I'm supposed to ignore that?

Hey me too.. I'm from the Burgh. Black&Gold all the way... It's just amazing that the Broncos keep winning. I watch them every week now.

Yeah.. but you look at what they are winning against. Miami hadn't won a game all season when the Broncos beat them, Detroit hammered the Broncos, Oakland played them with Carson Palmer making his first start of the season and Palmer struggled that game, KS sucks, Jets were in a free fall at the time, San Diego sucks, Minnesota sucks, The Bears may not win another game this season, New England will probably hammer them.... The Broncos are playing mostly the dregs and the injury depleted.

R u voicing your opinion or trying to change the way others think? You seem to be doing the same thing as the AFA, pushing your agenda. How r u any different?!
As far as I'm concerned we live in a country where one can believe and feel how they want.. Regardless of your feelings.

Probably so... I'll still watch. It's super entertaining... Especially here in Denver every week my neighbors and family get all excited..

Not if these Tebowisms hold true;)

When Tebow runs the option, his only option is victory!

or

Tebow always ends with a W!

Again- sad to see someone so reprehensible worshipped. I guess it's OK to be a douchebag if you're a decent athlete. Times never change, do they?

On the contrary- Tebow is free to believe what he wants. However, he supports a group of people who wish to deny others their rights through law. I deny no one their rights or beliefs. The AFA and Tebow are free to hate us all they want, but they are not free to deny us our rights in the legal sense.

That's not what I'm reading...

Worship? Comeon Lee. This is just having fun with his success. Why you are reading so much into this is beyond me. Why you keep trying to steer this discussion political is beyond me too

Really? What laws have I advocated for that would take away Tim Tebow's right to marry or believe in God?

Because duke, he did it first, by supporting the AFA during the Superbowl. You know what those people are about.

Oh I thought call some one a names would pretty much put u in the if you don't think like me you are wrong group....

Then read again. Tim Tebow openly supports an organization that focuses on taking rights away from citizens because of their sexuality. That is wrong, period. If he is going to use his celebrity to promote those kinds of organizations and agendas, then he is going to have to deal with the fallout. Either he's an easily influenced moron, or he's a homophobe. Either way, he's not some god-like all-American boy who should have his golden heiny kissed.

As a football player, I think he's overhyped, overrated, and owes his record to the Broncos' outstanding defense and young receivers who can perform feats of gymnastics to reel in his wobbly ass, off target throws.

This week he has to face New England, and I hope we crush him and save the country from another week of Tebow Time crap. Not to mention another week of praising a d-bag.

Precisely. And several people here have let me down by thinking this idiot is some kind of gift to the human race. He's part of the problem, not the solution.

Totally understand that... That's his belief.. Point is. Don't high jack. Start a new thread...
Don't like him, don't watch!

I don't really care...
I see it as football.. Too bad for the rest of u..

Oh no Mike Vick plays for the Eagles. Get the animal rights people out here to stop the madness quick... Really?? No one here said he is the greatest thing ever....
It's because of the haters that he is so hyped.. There is more I hate Tebow on the intetwebs than ever and hence the popularity...
You guys do it to yourselves...

As I said - had he been in an ad funded by the KKK - would the perception of him be the same?

I'll be rooting for the Patriots this weekend - and for anyone who knows me, that's saying something.

Outside of the Jets games, I haven't wanted the Patriots to lay the smack down this bad in awhile. I wish I was playing, that way after I picked him off five times, I'd tell Michelle Tafoya after the game that I think the AFA is wrong, unethical, and un-American, and anyone who supports it should re-examine their hatred towards others.

And yes, I would root for the Jets to lay the smack down on him, too.

I would agree, if Tebow had not done the ad he did. Personal views are fine until you put them in the public eye. At that point, you've entered a different arena. At that point, you've taken sides and are open to lots of criticism.

EDIT- By the way, Michael Vick made amends for what he did. I commend him for it. Tebow has not. And are you actually defending Vick's past actions?

Start another thread to talk about Tim Tebow? You mean like this thread is doing? He brought this into football when he used his position as a famous football player to promote a divisive, unethical agenda.

I don't really care...

Of course you don't care, his views and the organizations he supports don't try and take your rights away. You're in the selfish majority that doesn't have to care - as long as it doesn't affect you who cares, right?

Thankfully for this country, not everyone is like you, some of us care about issues because they matter whether or not they affect us personally.

You guys do it to yourselves...

Yes, because I personally have appeared in ads for an organization that thinks my life is an abomination. Oh wait, no, that was Tim Tebow.

Interesting that Vick was brought up. I think he's gone to incredible lengths to right his wrongs. I've been really happy with what he's done. Tebow, on the other hand, not so much- as in, nothing.

Completely agree. Everyone makes mistakes, at least Vick has attempted to atone for them in real and tangible ways beyond a lame "sorry" press conference. Tebow won't ever apologize because he actually believes the hate that AFA spews.

It's amazing to me that a celebrity can endorse an organization like that and still be lauded a hero for trivial sports accomplishments. Then again, Brett Myers beat the crap out of his wife on Newbury Street in Boston in full view of tons of people, and the Philadelphia Phillies still started him in a game against Boston the next day. This country is really effed up sometimes.

Interesting how you support Vick, a convicted felon, who actually committed crimes and has had trouble in the past to Tebow, who has not done anything aside from associating with a group that has opposing viewpoints from your own and furthermore probably did not know the intricacies of the group he was dealing with....I mean he must have been 21 years old and I would imagine that he was approached and thought it was a good idea, rather than him seeking them out.

I am not debating that his views are right or wrong as everyone has their own values but they are in separate leagues in my eyes in terms of "committing wrongs"

At any rate, I don't care for his personal beliefs but only the fact that the Broncos win under this guy. Hence the point of this thread, the making light of his abilities, and my support of the Broncos.

Yep- I actually did not expect Vick to do what he did. I was very pleasantly surprised. He seems like a good person who got caught up in celebrity. But now, the guy does good stuff. Good for him. It wasn't like he was doing ads for dog fights, though. He knew it was wrong in the first place. And he fixed it.

Tebow thinks it's OK to support organizations that try to convert gay people, and won't say he doesn't. He's done ads for these idiots and won't back away from them. So ya know what Tebow? You get what's coming. Own it.

What? Vick owned up to what he did, did his time, apologized and made up for it. To me, hell yes, that's to be noted. Tebow has done nothing of the sort. What I find interesting is that you see a problem with that.

And if you only care about winning, no matter what, we have issues. Do you really think that's all that matters? Because that's what you just said. If Jeffrey Dahmer was the best guy on your team and helped you win, would you not care?
