Vick owned up to what he did as he was forced too Lee. If he wanted sponsorships, he had to. If you think he truly changed his mindset about dog fighting, I would be surprised.

Vick had to get good PR on his side to get back into the good graces of the NFL and the public......that enables him to get his paycheck.

That doesn't change the fact that he committed true crimes. Tebow has not done such a thing. He merely exercised his right to express his opinion, right or wrong, it doesn't really matter. What exactly should he own up to? What societal wrong did he commit? In short, they aren't even equatable. To suggest such is befuddling to me.

I can be a fan of ones athletic accomplishments yet not their person....and even then I have to say that on the whole, I think Tebow is a quality person with some things I disagree with (which have been pointed out in this thread).

Tebow, who has not done anything aside from associating with a group that has opposing viewpoints from your own

No, it's not simply "opposing viewpoints from my own," it's an organization that actively works to promote an agenda that strips away my rights in this country. Do you understand that? It's not like disagreeing on what movie wins best picture at the Oscars. If you don't get that, I don't know what else to say.

At any rate, I don't care for his personal beliefs but only the fact that the Broncos win under this guy. Hence the point of this thread, the making light of his abilities, and my support of the Broncos.

Well, it must be nice to be able to ignore unpleasant things in the name of football victories because they don't personally affect you. I'm sure you'd feel differently if it were your life that organizations he supports were attacking. Football is just a game, we're talking about people's lives and rights as human beings in this country.

Interesting how you support Vick, a convicted felon, who actually committed crimes and has had trouble in the past to Tebow, who has not done anything aside from associating with a group that has opposing viewpoints from your own and furthermore probably did not know the intricacies of the group he was dealing with....I mean he must have been 21 years old and I would imagine that he was approached and thought it was a good idea, rather than him seeking them out.

Seriously? This guy was about to go into the draft - he was one of the most famous athletes in college football at the time. You don't think he was going to get that highly involved with a group he knew nothing about?

Ignorance is bliss. And this isn't about opposing viewpoints - this is about a man who has aligned himself with a hate group. And week in and week out we have to hear about what a "nice" guy he is. Well, screw that. This nice guy wouldn't hesitate to strip me of my rights.

Tebow has aligned himself with a hate group that advocates reparative therapy, which has cost many people their sanity and lives. These are human beings who've been damaged, many beyond repair. And you're going to tell me that Vick is worse?

Really?

Now, Tebow may not have done these things himself, but he's advocating them with his support of the AFA. I find Tebow to be far worse, naive and destructive. He's advocating harm to human beings with his involvement.

Absolutely unbelievable. You don't think aligning himself and supporting a hate group isn't a "societal wrong".

Honestly, I'm beginning to lose faith in people.

Seriously, you all have to take this light hearted thread and ruin it.

I have heard these same arguments before from you whenever Tebow is mentioned...almost verbatim....I get it and in many ways agree. Does that now mean that under no circumstances can we discuss Tebow here for his football? My god man. All your arguing won't. change. a. thing. on these forums in regards to Tebow's affiliations or actions!

arrgh shoot me in the face. lol

I'm sorry, but I don't find these "Tebow is awesome and godlike!" threads all that amusing or lighthearted. So yeah, every time the butt-kissing starts, I'll be there.

I'm disappointed that you give him a pass on this. And yes, we should absolutely shout Tebow down. Even though it won't change him, we should reject his views. Your unwillingness to do so speaks volumes. I could not count on you in this scenario because all you care about is winning. You're fine as long as there is something in it for you. You've shown that in this thread. As long as your team wins, that's all you care about. Would you like me to quote you?

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Duke has stated already that all he cares about is winning. And yes, I've lost a lot of faith.

Sometimes I wish I never came into PRSI, it has made me look at certain posters differently. Then again, I'm glad I know who the ******s are.

Well, it's an eye-opener for sure. Now I know who's OK with people who work against gay rights as long as their team wins. Hey- it's just their beliefs, right? Totally OK in that situation. No big deal, nothing to be done about it. Pro sports rule the whole thing, I guess. Gotta go with the guy who will win the game, no matter what.
