Watched the first season and loved it. Came to a nice conclusion.

Watched the first episode of Season 2 and it had some new guy and a dog was dying and who knows what else but the drop off in momentum was tremendous. Never watched another episode. Shocked that this is going four seasons.

Should have left it as-is. It had a beginning, middle and end. I can’t think of any open storyline that needs to be looked at. It was a great show that lasted as long as it should. Even though I loved the show, I really have no desire to watch any more.

Is this good? Saw it on AppleTV+ but when I watched the preview video it was nothing but a random selection of clips with no dialogue that told you absolutely nothing
It's VERY good… I loved all 3 seasons (except 1 weird off-brand episode that shadowed Coach Beard on a crazy night out) - I will miss the usual regulars we love from the previous 3 seasons, since this 4th season sounds like it will be a different team and club

The comments/questions about whether or not this is/was a good show are missing the point: this was a very successful show. Of course the studio wants more of it. We’ll have to wait and see what Jason Sudeikis, the real lynchpin of this project, has in mind for the trajectory/storyline of this new season. Personally, I thought the show wrapped up very tidy and was satisfied that it would be done with season three.

Here's hoping they can take inspiration from Old Yeller, and bring cast to a field during the last episode of season 4.

I can see why others didn't, but I rather enjoyed the Coach Beard (concept) episode.

That has ruined so many shows. (Not arguing that you are saying otherwise, of course.) Not to digress (and yet I am 😜), but I'm also not looking forward to another one of Bill Lawrence's great shows being rebooted...Scrubs.

First season of Ted Lasso had heart, second season was still great but oh did they dragged through the third season with the studio executive involvement and with creator Bill Lawrence checked out of it. My interest in season four is nearly dead.

I love Bill Lawrence and could be wrong, but I'm not sure he ever had much say outside of getting them the deal with Apple. Only had writing credit for first episode as far as I can tell. Much different from Scrubs, for example, which was his brainchild and had numerous writing and directing credits.

If the new season blows, and it very well could, I won’t watch it. That won’t affect my appreciation for the first three seasons. My guess is this is being driven more by studio demand than viewer demand, but I’ll give Sudeikis the benefit of the doubt. It’s his creation and I don’t think he would take another run at it unless he felt like he had a solid story to tell. Maybe he couldn’t resist the $$$ but I think he’s coming at this as a creative outlet project, which is what the first three seasons were. Wait and see…

I totally understand the apprehension to another season, especially since many storylines were wrapped up in season 3. It might be like when Scrubs wrapped up after eight seasons and the network and studio, ABC, (similar to Apple and Warner Bros. with Ted Lasso) wanted another. Season 9 was written as a spinoff by Bill Lawrence & Co., but was marketed as a continuation (hence the awkward "Med School" text tacked on in the opening credits, but not mentioned anywhere else). On its own as a spinoff, the season was okay, but included with the rest of the series, it was rough. I hope that a new season of Ted Lasso manages to continue what fans enjoyed.

Ted coaching a women's team could be an interesting angle, especially if he's staying in Kansas City—he did have some KC Current (NWSL) gear among all the other "shirts from home" in the series...not sure Vlatko Andonovski (KC Current coach) would appreciate being replaced in this fictional universe! :p

Excellent news, and intrigued by the pivot into womens football. and tbh it needed a pivot of some sort, a new direction. as long as its the same writers it will be great.

After enjoying the 1st season, I did not even get to completing the 2nd season. Some episodes felt like watching Sex and the City. Why they would mix content like that I don’t know.
All they had to do is make a show for a target audience and keep it that way. What’s so difficult about that?

Based on the pile of awards and the millions of viewers, it seems they did. Your error was assuming that you are the one-person “target audience.”

Ted Lasso is returning to Apple TV+ for a fourth season, series star Jason Sudeikis has confirmed (via The Radio Times).

In an interview on the New Heights podcast, Sudeikis admitted that he will be reprising his role once again as the show's titular character, and said that the fourth instalment is currently being written.

It's not yet known when the new season will be ready. As for where the storyline is going, Sudeikis revealed: "Ted's coaching a women's team, so there, that's it."

It's been two years since Apple released season three of the show, and there have been a fair few rumors about the possibility of a fourth round of episodes in the interim, but this is the first time that someone on the cast has explicitly confirmed that it's in the works.

For those unfamiliar with the show, Ted Lasso is a Kansas-based football coach who, despite lacking any soccer coaching experience, is unexpectedly hired to lead a professional team in England. Since its 2020 debut, the series has earned multiple prestigious awards, with its uplifting tone resonating strongly, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Coaching à women’s team!? Noooo 😭
What a piece of ****…..

Good to hear about its renewal. However expecting to see it only by mid 2026 at the earliest. Filming has not yet begun.

I loved Ted Lasso, but it did get tired. The fish-out-of-water plot could only last so long before the character got to know the country and the sport.

If it is to come back, it needs a new sport and a new country. Maybe cricket in India? It being a female team could be another layer to top.

Very happy about this but always wary when shows that are designed to have an actual ending come back.

Seasons 1-3 were pretty perfect except the really Nate personality switch which felt very contrived.

A woman’s team always felt like the next step for a spin off with such strong existing females characters in the show.

And with such a strong cast and strong writing, in theory there’s no reason why it can’t run on a while longer - but what seems more likely is it to segue neatly into a spin off.

Why are Apple making TV shows? I have a multitude of TV channels and streaming services to choose from. I would rather they focus their efforts on their core business.

Yeah it’s a good point. I always assumed it was because they had high hopes for the Vision Pro, were aiming for a lower price for it (ie so more than 3 people bought it) and didn’t want to be beholden to other suppliers to roll out content for it.

Ditto Amazon prime. I have prime for the free delivery. If Amazon wants to spend a few billion a year on prime video well ok. But if they didn’t I’d still have prime.

God forbid a show demonstrates that it’s okay for men to have emotions. Or maybe I’m misunderstanding your point.
All people have emotions. Making decision based on emotions? That's not how man should live his life. That's my opinion. I don't want you to agree.
