Why are Apple making TV shows? I have a multitude of TV channels and streaming services to choose from. I would rather they focus their efforts on their core business.

How does it detract from focusing on the core business? TV programmes aren’t being made by hardware and software engineers. Heck, most of them probably aren’t even made by Apple Studios.
