Interesting stuff, thanxx @Dronecatcher !

Top video is based on the very same model as my machine (with a bit less RAM though), however I noted that this is dated 4-5 years back therefore I suspect it won't work the same today. As a matter of fact you commented below that video that YT regularly modify their contents such that this type of solutions don't work for too long... so while I can see the potential for a CLI it's probably not worth the effort (though I might want to give it a try anyway).

The bottom video being only 2 years old seems more promising, while also offering a good potential for the terminal/CLI driven U/I I'm thinking about (whose feasibility entirely remains to be seen, of course) - so I'll look into the Links2 browser and see what I can develop around it (as you know I'm already using PPCMC7 in Leopard, so this Links2 approach should be workable on my machine).

Ideally YT would provide a working, efficient and well documented API to customize its interface to our very needs (or rather, develop our own U/I from the ground up) , all of this delivered 24/7 and for free, needless to say.
This is when the clock alarm rings and I need to wake up and get off my bed. 😢
