I'm expecting ios 8.0.1 with tons of bug fixes soon.
This is a very important one.
When the iphone 5 first came out it was doing the same thing with me on most wifi's I tried to connect. If I restarted the iphone then it was fine till I left and came back to the same wifi later and then it wouldn't pull any data at all until I did another restart.
Last time it took months for Apple to fix that and in some cases they were replacing the whole phone at Apple. I cant remember what ios 6 version fixed it but one of them did and it never happened to me again after that update.

At this point, it's unclear where the issue is. Could be on Apple's side, could be the router. I think we're going to need people saying what routers they're using. Apple Airports seem to be fine, but there is at least one person with an Asus router that is having problems. However, I have an Asus RT-N16 running TomatoUSB, and it's fine with my iPhone 6.

I have a new airport with ac wifi and my speeds are a lot lower than my 5s. If I restart router it helps for a little while but than speeds drop based on the speedtest app. Could it be the app on the iPhone 6 plus that is not optimized because when I use the app it flickers/stutters. I do not notice slower speed with use on web pages or YouTube just that the app is reading low numbers for upload and download.
I think people need to start saying which brand and model of router they are using.

I'm using the new apple time capsule with AC and I am having issues, even if I just connect to the 2.4ghz band and avoid AC all together. I checked my wife's iphone 5 that is on 7.1.2 and in the same general area she is getting roughly 10Mbps more then I do on the iphone 6.
So, from what the best I can tell is there's nothing wrong with my time capsule, the issue is either with the iphone 6 or ios 8 itself. Personally, I'm inclined to say ios 8.

Same here with iPhone 5S and my AirPort Extreme. 5Ghz sucks. I'm using 2.4GHz for now until they fix this.

Definitely not my router since things were fine on ios7.

And Yes, my Routers name is Super Mario :D

I use netgear R7000. Both of my 6+ have problem connecting with the wifi network until I lowered the 2.4Ghz band to 54 mbps. Anything higher than that the iphone would be disconnected randomly. 5Ghz band is unusable.

iphone 5s running iOS7, and another 5s with iOS8, and everything else in the house works fine. This is a iphone 6 issue.

Wifi speeds slow for me too. (iPhone 6plus) not sure why. What does anyone recommend? Sometimes it doesn't pick up available wifi spots then when I'm home connected to my router it has been going really slow trying to download apps that I previously had downloaded

No issues here (not rubbing it in, I'll gladly help in any way I can). Connecting to the 5ghz band on my r7000 with my iPad air and iPhone 6. My 4S connects to the 2.4ghz.

Here's my iPhone 6: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/i/968001458

My iPad air is the same (right around 120mb/s)

My iPhone 4S maxes out at just under 50mb/s

I'm having consistent WiFi problems on my 6 plus but my iPad air is fine running ios 8. The iphone shows connectivity but is very slow until I turn wifi off and on.

exactly the same issue with my iPhone 6, will you return it? or, what should we do?

Holy Crap Man...You have amazing Wifi Speeds!

Just lucky! Before buying my own modem (arris tm822g) and router, I was maxing out at 50mb/s with the Comcast rental (arris tm702g) and my old netgear wnd3500 router.

It's an iOS bug. I have the same issue with my iPhone 5s after upgrading to iOS 8.0.0. My iPhone 6 is fine though. I hope Apple fix the issue soon.

Returning it likely won't do anything but waste your time. The issue appears to be IOS 8 and a certain combination of routers. If you're not going to change your router, and swap your phone, you're still running the same combo that's giving you issues.

Your best chance of resolution is another router or waiting for an IOS update or perhaps a firmware update. If you want immediate resolution, find out what router and firmware people are running who don't have a problem, and get one of those.

Mine seems ok...

iPad with lighting cable has been working fine since upgrade without a hitch. Turning of 5Ghz was a short lived performance fix for iPhone 6 as this morning it's back to barely working to not working at all.

Had this problem too. Did not think to Restore iPhone, but Apple Care suggested that and it did the trick for my home WiFi. If the WiFi works at my job, I'm golden (should be fine.)

My Airport Extreme is 3-4 years old.

Home speed was literally 0 when I did a speed test. But the upload was 6 mbs which obviously is much lower than normal but at least it's something. But like others have said, Power cycle is a temporary fix but then it stops working again. Luckily I have unlimited data until apple fixes this. If it's still messed up next week I'm going to think about an exchange during my 2 week period.

Guess I'm blessed... My wifi is amazing always full and when I left to test see how responsive is the LTE handoff it was pretty good. Then the LTE to wifi handoff kicked in pretty fast coming back as well. Fully satisfied with this phone.

Thx for your reply, BUT the really weird thing is that my roommate got another iPhone 6 and it works perfectly.

I'm a little bit worrying about this is a hardware issue and the 14 days return policy will expire when figure it out ...

----------

I'm waiting, it's likely a bug that will get resolved. Returning the phone would be a waste of time.

Me too, that's kinds of relief to know I'm not the only one who have this issue. Best wishes

My Speedperformance goes up and down. Sometimes i get nearly the full speed with the newest generation Time Capsule!
