I'm pretty sure this is an iOS 8 issue.

Noticed that my 6 was losing wifi, so I plugged it in and restored it in iTunes. "It said "download and update", which I thought was odd, since I was already on 8. So I did, and all is fine now. No problems since.

I'm guessing that the version that came installed on the phones is a slightly earlier version than the one that was released on Thursday.

At least that's my theory.

My Speedperformance goes up and down. Sometimes i get nearly the full speed with the newest generation Time Capsule!

Nice! There was one poster (I need to find the link) who had 768 mb/s on his speedtest. I don't think it was from his iPhone though.

Unfortunately, it looks like this issue has returned for me. Wifi on iPhone 6 is far slower than wifi on my 2010 MBP in the same position in my house. Hopefully it will be fixed with a software update.

Pulling a solid 120mbps down using speedtest.net over wifi... Everything's great. Best my wife's iPhone 5s does is 90mbps

Asus RT-AC56R 802.11ac router running on the 5ghz band.

I can barely pick up a signal in the same room as the router, much less anywhere else in my house. Fixing the channel width to 20mhz helped, but sitting my 6 side by side with my 5S, the 6 gets one or two bars and the 5S is full. Both running iOS8.

Two iphone 6+ tested with below results. Speed test doesn't tell the whole store. When it doesn't work, the wifi disconnects almost right away when downloading 4 or 5 apps simultaneously.

Netgear R7000 with latest firmware:
2.4Ghz@54mbps, works fine.
2.4Ghz@>54mbps, doesn't work.
5.0Ghz@any speed, doesn't work, have to "forget" the network in order to see other networks.

Linksys E2500 V1 latest firmware:
2.4Ghz, did not try.
5.0Ghz, works fine, full fios speed at 85mbps upload and download.

Does Anybody's iPhone 6 Wi-Fi Automatically Turn Off But Wifi Is On But Its Not Connected. No Network Would Show Up But Wi-Fi is Turned On ? I Gotta Do A Reboot For It To Connect

It happened to me once on Saturday morning. Hasn't happened again yet.

With so many reporting this issue, it has to be ios 8 right?

I Called Verizon Wireless & They Said It Might Be iOS 8. They Said If Apple Releases An Update & It Fixes It Then We Good But If The Update Don't Fix It, Its A Hardware Problem

It's not the iPhone 6/+. I was streaming 1080p full-length movies all day just to drain and cycle my battery for a fresh recharge. Wifi was solid, didn't drop once. I have an Asus N router (not sure exact model). It's likely the router, channel or frequency. IMO very unlikely to be an iPhone 6/+ or iOS 8 issue.

This is happening to me as well. Two chats with support and all but restoring the phone (what a PITA) and no luck. This is happening on multiple networks. My iPad works fine and gets great speed while the iPhone 6 is getting around 0.4mbps down. Very frustrating.

Updated iPhone 6 Plus to 8.0.2 and used WiFi Sweetspots the App to check things out afterwards. Wi-Fi router is AirPort Extreme with ac band. Besides the iP6+ also have iPad Air WiFi only. Have the AirPort Extreme running both 5ghz and 2.4ghz on discreet channels to avoid neighbor's router interference.

The iPad Air 7.1.2 getting 160 mbps. I believe the Air only has n.
The iP6+ 8.0.2 getting 279 mbps. Understand it has ac band.

Try changing your router channel

This. I initially was using channel 144 on 5Ghz perfectly through ios 7.1, with my AirPort Extreme 5th gen. Then after the ios8 upgrade I was getting horrible wifi performance on my iPhone 5S on 5ghz only.

Changed channel to 167, and all is good now.
