It doesn't bother me nearly as much as the reason it needs to hang over the top--the ridiculous camera bump that doesn't allow an iPhone to sit flat on a surface. The bump is especially dumb when you consider that the wireless charging function relies on making good contact with the charge surface.
Now that you mention it, I took a closer look, and in that picture, the phone isn't hanging off far enough to clear the camera bump.

Honestly, Tesla has historically done REALLY well with any of these random products they sold for a limited time/production run. They always become collectibles and sell on sites like eBay for more than their original prices.

Look at the "Tesla tequila" for example, or the red satin Tesla shorts.
I just thought it was an odd product for them.

I thinking you’re confusing marketing campaigns, 3D renders, announcements, and having a lot of investors for doing “a lot for climate change, space exploration, artificial intelligence, etc.”
Marketing campaigns? Tesla does not advertise…

3D renders? Millions of cars sold so far.

A lot of investors: Yes, because they have been a profitable company for a while now.

And yes, proving electric cars where viable made all major car companies invest in electric cars. Tesla paved the way… Is that not doing a lot?

I don’t even need to talk about spacex because it’s so obvious what they’ve accomplished… They’re the only reason americans can go to the space station now. Only orbital class rockets that can land on their feet, it’s ridiculous…

But if it’s all smoke and mirrors to you… well, to each it’s own I guess…

Sounds like a personal problem to me? Maybe you should change your outlook and quit assuming random Tesla owners fit one particular mindset you've assigned to them?

As someone who was never really sure about Elon Musk in the past, but who loved Space-X and Tesla? I'm just as happy with their vehicles today as I was back in 2014.

I mean, early on, he created that Tesla Solar company and it turned out it was mostly an attempt to bail out a relative's failing solar panel business when he bought it out as a favor. Their pricing never really made sense to me. I got better panels at a better price buying from a regional solar installer. His "Boring Company" was questionable too. I mean, ok - they have a cool machine to dig big tunnels in the ground. But we've always been able to dig tunnels as needed for large projects, and all of the stuff about it enabling a "Hyper Loop" was just sci-fi fantasy imagination as much as anything else. (Note that Elon just suggested OTHERS could build them to work with his Boring Company tunnels to make a complete package. And nobody really did....)

Elon was really just the "money" behind various business startup ideas, with some having more merits than others. (I think Starlink has some definite promise!)

Beyond that, he's just a rich guy who has a lot of fun trolling people on social media and making real "big picture" promises about what he wants to do next -- most of which has unrealistic timelines for completion, even if it's really happening. I happen to like the guy in an "eccentric rich dude" way. But he could walk away from Tesla completely and the company should be fine. He didn't invent anything they do and they're well established....

It’s all fun and games to the rich because they have 10 layers of security and bodyguards. Not so fun for others who lose money on investment hype or experience threats and violence because of hate speech being promoted.

So rather than admitting it's not right to assume all Tesla drivers share a specific set of values, you chose to deflect and complain about Elon's trolling on social media. Got it....

FWIW though? I have very little sympathy for people who "lose money on investment hype". Hype is NOT a sound way to invest, period. Any financial advisor would steer a client far away from that "noise".

They dont care about non-apple compatibility with Their charging pad.

Ive seen chargers that handle two watches, but if you want to charge three or four watches you are going to need more than one charger

Air Power’s killer features were the ability to place devices anywhere and charge more than one device but now that apple is using magnets for alignment that feature is unnecessary. And you can buy 2-1 and 3-1 chargers So AirPower as it was announced is an unnecessary product.

If you move the nearest pad coil then it would reduce power sent to the device charging next to it. You cant move the coil inthe watch because the magnet and sensors are inthe center of the dome. Changing an apple watch on a flat surface would be slow.

You may just need to accept having more than one charger. I bet you could DIY the exact kind of charger you want with three watch chargers, some double sided tape, and a usb hub.

Don't get me wrong, there is a lack of pads for a lot of different products, but I think apple is more interested in pads that have distinct places for devices instead of a place them anywhere pad.

Apple does care about non-apple devices apparently.
