Yeah, I'll never buy a Tesla product now – car or phone charger. I was a fan of Musk in years past but all this Twitter stuff has made me realize he's just an entitled narcissistic buffoon. I see someone driving a Tesla now and my gut instinct is that they are as narcissistic and insecure and assholish as Musk. That's not fair to them – and not accurate across all Tesla drivers, but it just goes to show how Musk has tarnished the Tesla brand through his antics.
I didn't buy my Tesla because of Elon, and I won't NOT buy anything because of him either. Just the product on its merits.

So is AAPL
Glad you mentioned that. Not nearly as much as Tesla.

AAPL is at a support level. TSLA blew past it.

They're not valued like a niche luxury maker. They were valued at something like the combined value of the top four largest automakers. If they're merely meant to compete with BMW and Daimler, then their stock has a lot further to fall...
so therefore, what real competition is there then if not bmw and merc.

Anker 6-port charger: $30. 9 foot Lightning charging cable: $10. Apple Watch charging cable: Came with the watch: Free. AirPods Pro wireless charging: I've got tons of spare Apple Watch charging cables, so also free. Being able to lay in bed and use my phone while it charges: Priceless. Space taken up on my nightstand: Almost none.

Everyone else. Tesla's market cap is essentially the same as Toyota, BYD, Porsche and Volkswagen combined. That is based on the assumption that they will grow to dominate those companies, so that's the competition. BYD is probably a special case, so you can substitute BMW and Honda in for BYD.

Tesla basically had first mover advantage and got to where they are because the rest of the industry was slow to pivot to electric. That's changed. The industry seems to have figured out that electric is the future, and they're ramping up. Tesla is a technology company that makes cars and they're going to have to compete with car companies that merely need to adopt technology. Electric motors and chemical batteries aren't a niche field.

Apple is going to face the same problem if they think cars are going to be the next big thing for them. There are a minority of buyers that get excited by car tech, but most of them just want to buy something that will reliably get them to and from work for the next 10 years.

Elon meeting Tim at Apple Park..
Elon: Hey Tim, can you please come back as advertiser on Twitter. In return I will allow Apple Music on all Teslas.
Tim: That’s all?
Elon: Ok, we can make a charging mat. Launch will create a lot of public exposure and we’ll feature Apple iPhone & AirPods.
Bingo. That's exactly what happened!

He basically invented the foundation of the modern digital wallet, saved the American space program, the reason Ukraine has internet and its military has resilient comms, and the only reason Detroit is even making electric cars today.

Do you have any support for any of that? I'm not sure exactly what name he files his patents under, but this is a bit sparse:

https://patents.google.com/?inventor=elon+musk

compared to, say:

https://patents.google.com/?inventor=steve+jobs
