Looks like I got the LG display. Didn't know or care and still don't about who manufactured it but it is kind of nifty that you can find out. I haven't had any problems with mine. Screen issues look to be a hit or miss--you'll either some some issues or nothing will be wrong with it at all, so even if your machine's display was manufactured by the more infamous company than it shouldn't matter so long as yours is working fine anyway. Not sure if there's been much of a correlation between issues and manufactures, but I suppose it's too early to see anyway.

Lg and now spotted the tiniest of dead pixels right next to the trash can, it's not really that noticeable just it's so new and whats to come? I live Ireland and no apple store here, what would you peeps do in my shoes?

I don't have a rMBP, but honestly, I never thought you can still see dead pixels w/ that high resolution.

If it bothers you, have it replaced. But won't you get a refurb? There's also a risk of getting a worse unit.

Samsung here.

I have a number of pixels that keep turning black until massaged back to life, and 3 apparently permanently dead pixels.

I am considering whether to return this for a replacement, particularly since it's a 2.7/16/768 model and a significant investment.

Aside from these issues the screen is absolutely beautiful.

LG here. Is this weird outer glow considered a screen issue? All of my apps had this when I woke up my computer this morning. I restarted and everything has been just fine since, but is it something I should be concerned about?

are you talking about the drop shadow? If you can see it in a screen grab its not a physical problem. A screen grab is just a snap of the current image buffer. So if you can see a problem there, its either software, or graphics card related. I don't see anything wrong with that image tho.

Yes, it looked like their were a bunch of overlapping drop shadows.

That's what my hunch was, the graphics card.. I've been running gfxCardStatus and when I switched from Discrete to Integrated, while the weird shadow was present, much of the desktop turned green/pink. Upon clicking on the windows the colors went away, and minus some lag everything was back to normal. I then restarted, and it's been smooth since.. It's been running on integrated since restart with no issues (about two hours).

But then yeah, the screen is awesome! I've never used an Apple provided cleaning cloth so much.

The banding? That could be because the card is warming up.

LG here.

Looks like I have no problems! The only small complaint I have (which seems to be almost universal regardless of which brand LCD you have), is that its a little dim compared to my old MacBook Pro.

This is a good site to test for several issues; including yellow tint, and dead pixels > http://imac.squeaked.com/test.php

No issues, I'm pretty happy with it.

There is a miniscule scratch that I see in the bottom left hand corner of the display, but I think I did it when opening/closing the lid, it does not affect the display in any way, and it's so small I can't get a pic. I don't notice it so I'm not going to hassle over something so small and tiny.
