That's a propeller... really?

Speaking with my technical illustrators hat on, I would have thought that if you were to create a depiction of a Thing, you would at least look at a real-world example of that Thing, and use that as a basis. I don't know what that new icon is, but it isn't a propeller. Have a look at a real one, then look again at the icon. The old version was at least credible.
Yes, I know, it's only an icon, but surely, why not take the same time and effort that you've put into doing it wrong, and do it right? Meh. The day of the yahoo is upon us.

You are getting too technical now.

Too technical? Windmills date back to around 500 C.E. If people understood them 1500 years ago, I don’t think discussing them and why they look the same as propellors is “too technical”

Yeah, it looks like 3 bars of soap. Recommendation: if you see that on the front of a plane, don’t get on the plane.

It resembles and matches up with the renewal energy. Check under Microscope.
No it doesn't!

It doesn't match up to or resemble anything! It's for Test Flight - name taken from a flight taken by an aircraft (flight) for purposes of testing (test). Hence Test Flight.

It's nothing to do with wind turbines at all.

It was designed by someone who has had a propeller described to them, without actually seeing the real thing.

As long as TestFlight works like it should, I really don’t care what the icon looks like.

A change in the icon is not what i consider noteworthy news, even if I may be in the minority.
I agree it's minor news. I love the way TestFlight works as a beta tester though.

I think I like the more boxed shape of the icon but prefer flat designed icons without too much detail. Too much going on with the new and not loving that white border around it. But that's me and this is totally subjective.

The icon looks like it has 3 small tiles at varying angles. It almost reminds me of Tiles that you add to your wallet, keys, or other item so you don’t lose them.
It kind of looks like an app icon tile that sort of progresses from looking like a blueprint design, to being more defined, to being more finalized and polished. All done in a circular design to perhaps demonstrate lifecycle of app development, while still visually being in a form that ties back to the previous propeller type of logo.

Highly detailed nice looking icon. I suspect all icons will be moving to a more detailed direction shortly.
Yes, but is it left to right or right to left direction, And what about those who are below the equator? Does it turn the other way?;)
