Such a pity you need to create an Apple one account to reply. Not so friendly for people outside of the Apple garden

Had anyone had the possibility to send this to someone with an android? I have an upcoming 30th bday and was thinking about how to send out the invitations. This app came as a gift from heaven, but of course it seems like it won’t work for android.

Android folks can reply just fine .. only creation of invites is limited to iCloud+ subscribers (you, in this case)

The App "came as a gift from heaven"?

I don't entirely hate the idea of this, but any shot I have at using it kinda goes out the window with that fact that it doesn't work on a Mac.

Fact is, if I'm planning an event that's much past the "text or email a few people" level of complexity, that means I'm opening up my calendar, looking through my contacts, maybe making some kind of graphic and writing out the invite text itself... At that point, I'm 1000% sitting down at my Mac, just like I would the minute there are multiple windows and true multitasking involved in putting the information together.

It's the same reason I will generally go to my Mac to plan a trip or comparison shop for something expensive. No way am I going to suffer through all that crap on an iOS screen, switching between apps over and over again. It's just a miserable and error-prone experience.
iCloud.com... works on there

Phewww thanks!

Haha I might have over exaggerated, but there is no invite app I’ve heard about out there at least. This app has all the features I want and need. Don’t really understand the hate towards it. Hopefully Facebook events can die now.

For one the same reasons anyone charges for anything. The default cannot be free for all apps. All iCloud+ features are not free.

Yeah .. but "invites" are something you want as many people to use as possible

It's an odd one to be putting on a paid tier

Almost guarantees it's going to be a tough adoption curve

Good point. Maybe it’s their way of making paid users beta-test it before making free :)

It needs a posts/comments section, like Facebook events. This is needed for asking questions, coordinating dishes/drinks to bring, etc. Just seeing a simple comment on the RSVP is not very useful.

As someone who uses Calendar invites often, this app is astoundingly pointless. If you add from Invited to Calendar it doesn’t even tell you who has accepted or decline the invite, whereas it would if I had just created it from within Calendar

I think because this is the pilot project
Eh don’t think so.
Look at their Classical Music (can be part of music)
Sports (can be part of news)
Journey (can be part of notes)

People are creating these Apps to be promoted. That’s also why they lack functionality and cross platform support on launch. This is just to make sure they are launched fast.

Then the Apps will be slowly ignored

It’s available on the iPad, but runs as a phone sized app. That’s silly and annoying.

It says "anyone can receive invites" and then prompts invitees to log in to an Apple Account before being able to RSVP???? This is a non-starter along with the iCloud+ requirement for creating events.

Here I finally thought I can ditch FB as events are what holds me back.

Between this and the Apple Music SharePlay disaster this has been a bad week for "It Just Works"

I can’t start complaining about Apple intelligence and this new app shows how uncool Apple has become … cartoons like images for 2 years old birthday party

The privacy policy is a little surprising, no? I would've expected almost nothing to be visible to Apple- only to the people who are invited would seemingly match their general "on device processing" mantra

Good video. Will try it out personally in the coming days. Would have been good if a subscription to iCloud+ was not necessary to send out invites.
