Omg! This is awesome. They need to fix the bugs. Lol. Waiting for a more stable release of the jailbreak.
An update just loaded for TetherMe for iOS8 and I went ahead and installed it. Upon re springing I had the blue screen of death for a moment which then turned to just the apple logo. Sat there for a minute and then I held the vol up and power button and it eventually resprung to my home screen. Dodged a bullet. Went ahead and rebooted phone and all is well right now.

I double-checked that my iPhone is accociated with my Cydia account, but still get the "unable to install" message...

I think there was a cutoff date of April 2013 and if you had purchased before that then you may not be able to get it yet. I do know one thing, after getting that blue screen and trying to reply to your post just a minute ago in tapatalk I ended up getting the red screen. Gonna be pissed if I have to return this phone already.
But the idea of this isn't to stop them knowing your using data it is to stop them knowing its data derived from tethering use. I have unlimited data on the phone itself.

On your 7.1.2 iphone add the repo.tetherme.net then purchase the "tetherme iOS 8" upgrade for $2.99. Then it'll work on your iOS 8 device.
Any experiences getting caught by the wireless provider?

Has worked flawlessly for me over the years with Verizon. Granted I have paid them for their tethering service time to time while waiting for jailbreaks.
I use T-Mobile and have tethered using this and used as much as 75GB in one week and never got a warning. I do have the unlimited everything plan that includes 3GB tethering.
Used to use this all the time. I'm on a shared plan with tethering now though, but great for people that don't have it in their plan.
Yes, I remember the days without the native tethering while only having 3gigs of data with att. Finally those days have moved on =)
You need to add the repo and purchase the $2.99 upgrade from an jail broken 7.xx device. Then it'll be available to download on your iOS 8 device.
Right now you can't purchase that upgrade from iOS 8 device because cydia disable purchasing.
