I don't know if you are being sarcastic or not. But where would you like us to put our phones if we don't put them in our pockets. Not everyone wears jackets or sweaters all the time to be able to put it in other pockets. No one is gonna carry their ph be around constantly in their hands.

Or like 99 percent of plus owners have it in their pockets and have no bending like the 3-4 users and it's not an issue

Just a thought?

I think somehow these ppl got the new model that they are going to release later this year... Iphone 6 Curve :p

Yes I know some people are making it a bigger issue then it is. I'm sure the people that are reporting that their phones are bending are putting more force on them to bend like that. That's not usual.

As for options to carrying it, I use a case with a belt clip and carry it as shown in this photo and I will also have the phone inside the pocket but still clipped to the top of the pocket so a significant amount of the phone is in the pocket for protection.

For those who think a large, slim phone should be designed to fit in snug pockets and not bend... keep putting it in your pocket and enjoy your bent phones.

Actually even some iphone 6 owners are hoping because what would life be without gate issues

I disagree, I think the bending is a legitimate issue. Especially since it is a non issue in competitor devices. Only a true "Fanboy" would argue otherwise. To say "Dont' put your phone in your pocket" is about as effective as saying "Don't hold the phone like that" during antenna gate.

Seriously folks, these things are between $650 and $850 a piece, they should have some sort of resistance to daily wear and tear.

This was actually the #1 reason I went with the 6. I had an HTC One M8 before the 6 and while sitting down (particularly in tighter jeans) the device can get wedged in your leg. The bottom of the phone goes horizontal with your leg, but the top snags, because it cant go any lower in the pocket, on the top of the pocket and presses against the area in front of your hip.

Don't believe me? Ask anyone with a large sized device, it happens and it sucks and is very annoying to unlodge. It most often will happen in a vehicle.

Apples response will be to remove the device from your pockets or to use a holster. This really isnt Apples fault, its just an issue with going so large so thin and metal.

Do a search on Samsung phones bending and you will find similar threads. It is not a non issue in competitor devices.

So this isn't about phones bending.

To you this is about how fanboys react to criticism.

weather the phone is super flimsy or not doesn't matter to you.

But because fanboys get defensive then now you're hidden agenda is you WANT it to bend so you can judge those fanboys you hate so much...

Its not about weather the phone is actually like a pop tart or not. Its just about hatred.

This thread is funny, because it actually promotes the topic.

It is what is and will pan out as such. Whether your in immediate denial or immediate panic. Plenty of both.

Let me get this straight. Apple lauds how thin the phone is. When there is a problem with it people want to blame the users?

Men have to put the phone in a pocket. They don't carry purses. What are they supposed to do? Carry it in a shirt breast pocket when they go to the men's room? But then it may fall in the toilet. Use a holster? What if they snap it? Is it still the users fault?

Blaming the user for doing something with their device that they are supposed to be able to do without worry is pretty lame. It is giving apple a pass they don't deserve. Apple is a billion dollar corporation that prides themselves on innovation, manufacturing excellence, & quality products. They should be appalled that this is an issue because it shines a light on their testing process.

Shorter: Telling people they aren't supposed to put their phone in their front trouser pockets is ridiculous. Just plain old ridiculous.

How are you still not getting this?

We don't know if this is a real problem. 3 out of millions having this "problem" doesn't mean it's a real world problem. How do we even know these couple of examples are even being described honestly or accurately? We don't. You can't just assert that because someone said their phone bent under basically no pressure at all that it must therefore be true. Especially when we have so many millions of counter-examples.

I think you misunderstood their intention.

All they were saying is, the 5.5 is bigger now. Its a bigger screen. You have to be more careful with it.

Its almost like a few of these dumb dumbs who bent their phones are just realizing I can't do gymnastics like I used to with a tiny phone in my pocket and I have to be more careful!

And they are saying the responsibility is different. And if you have problems with small pockets then don't do that.

Yes it is bigger and longer now.

Thats all we are saying.

I for one have normal pockets and can operate the same.

If you can't operate the same, sorry, but that is the tradeoff for the wonderful new screen.

So that is all we are saying by being defensive.

THERE IS NO 5.5 PHONE ON EARTH THAT IS AS NIMBLE AS A 4 INCH PHONE.

Apple or not.

But somehow it all got turned around and flipped into something retarded.

With users like this who needs Samsung, Apple's own users will make a non issue (bending iphones) which are statistically insignificant right now into a major issue with major publishers of news outlets using only macrumors as their examples and no where else . lol: so toxic

So people buying $600 phones and bending them in their own pockets after just 2 days is a non-issue? What's an issue in your book? A bending $600 phone is more than a simple issue. Stop being such a fan boy, jeez.

Let's see.

Should I listen to the users griping on Macrumors about how it's ridiculous to expect to be able to pocket the phone...

Or should I expect a billion dollar company with resources and very intelligent people working for them to be able to come up with a way to protect their phone against normal use?

I'm going to go with the latter.

That makes no sense.

Do you not comprehend that these are unproven isolated incidents on the internet?

You have to be an ANTI-fan-boy to think there is anything relevant going on here.

Ive been to the store and checked out the Plus and its not made out of butter.

Thousands of people break, drop, damage their phones everyday.

That is not an issue, that is human negligence which is normal and happens constantly, daily, over millions of people.

So yes, its a non issue unless you WANT there to be an issue. And "bending" logic to make it a concern when it isn't one.

Just like if someone dropped their phone in a pool, or dropped it, or sat on it, it will be a problem that has nothing to do with those of us who take care of our devices with appropriate awareness.

You can use it in your pockets. As long as you have normal pockets.

9 out of 10 of us can use it in pockets.

I for one wear basketball type shorts and they swallow my phone just as comfortably and loosely as ever before so I have no problems :)

If some other Macrumors members didn't know how to react to criticism, thats not my problem either :)

Based on your posts I have read today (and in the past, to be honest), I think you should look in the mirror man.

Whether this is an issue or not, a lot of your responses are down right demeaning. Carry on, or don't. Whatever. I just felt it had to be said.
