Here's the problem: fat people sitting on their phones in their backpockets in tight jeans.

Who the hell puts 250 lbs on their phone in their backpocket? WHAT DO YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN?

With users like this who needs Samsung, Apple's own users will make a non issue (bending iphones) which are statistically insignificant right now into a major issue with major publishers of news outlets using only macrumors as their examples and no where else . lol: so toxic

Why are you so mad about this? You have a perfect phone, be happy and stop looking for things to be angry about, life is too short.

because of FUD like "this issue is growing by the hour" and perceptually inept comprehension if this is already an issue or potentially an issue.

Yes the next issue will go something like, did you know if you drop your phone in water it may stop working?? WATERGATE

It only bends when you put it in your pants pockets.

Stop putting it in your ****ing pants pockets!

Exactly, you are expected to roll with your iPhone6Plus like this

It's 3 people out of how many . it's statistically insignificant right now so it is a non issue. Stop hoping it is one

Your statement is false. You have no idea how many 6 and 6+'s are bent.

You can all cry issue or non-issue, but it's based on your opinion. A tiny fraction of people come here with issues.

right now 90% of all bent iPhones are macrumor users and there are 5 of those who have actually posted pictures and 2 are likely and rest were drive by trolling. so say 10 million iPhones were shipped, 6 million were delivered. lets do 12 users , so 12 users of 6 million is 0.0002%. now that is those who have come out.

lets assume that there are 3000 users instead of 12 users, that would make it 0.05%

Now lets assume even further there are 30,000 users with this, that would make it 0.5%

now lets take it further and make it 300,000 users with this, that would make it 5% and match a typical product failure rate of 4-8%, that is the industry standard.

Now do you think if there were 300,000 users with this issue. they would be venting somewhere online in the age of macrumors, twitter, facebook google plus, vimeo....ANYWHERE? no.

Why are the people who are not having issues mad that this is on the news? Who cares enjoy your phone no need to be mad for no reason.

Yup.

The phones are strong enough

The people aren't smart enough tho lol to realize "the phone is bigger now, realize that and be aware"

Why are the people who are not having issues mad that this is on the news? Who cares enjoy your phone no need to be mad for no reason.

Because we know the motivation of why people latch onto it.

Your assumptions astound me. Do you work in a think tank?

Apple's own users will make a non issue (bending iphones) which are statistically insignificant right now into a major issue

It's a leap to think Samsung (or other manufacturers) isn't/aren't in here stirring the pot. Some of the posts I've read on this are simply ignorant. Some of the sheople who believe them even more so.

These are not magical bendy phones. Just takes reasonable care.

Even the headline says "some iphone users". I think it's a perfectly valid concern, regardless of how big an issue it is. It's happening. It's news. The fact that crappy news outlets use MacRumors as their one and only source is irrelevant. It only serves to highlight that they're crappy places to go for new...

"Some"? It was 2 of of what maybe 5+ MILLION?

I was once in a car accident and bent my car. Think they'd replace it? Cars shouldn't bend!!

If the car didn't bend to proper safety protocols, yes. You could actually win a major lawsuit. The difference is that car manufacturer's are required, by law, to follow certain guidelines. I don't believe cell phone manufacturer's have any such guidelines (in terms of the frame of the phone... they certain do regarding safety of use).

But we aren't even talking about accidents here. We are talking about regular use. This is like saying you drove your car on a 400 mile road trip and the hood started warping. There were no collisions, just a warping hood from regular driving.

I suppose you could argue that keeping your phone in your pants pocket isn't "regular use", but I would say that most folks would disagree with that. It's not really feasible to argue that a cell phone design requires the product be placed in its own purse or held in one's hand at all times whether in use or not.

Anyway the point is sort of moot. There seem to be more early instances of bends than there were with previous iPhones, but the product hasn't been out long enough to make any truly meaningful and lasting judgments.

Exactly.

Starring the pot?

They probably own the pot.

It amazing that so many of these threads are by "newbies".

There is no verifiable evidence that any phoe bent in anyone's pocket.

All there is are pictures of a bent phones.

Anecdotal comments are not proof of anything.

If the phone got bent, it was bent on purpose.

Then you have the easily influenced people who take anything at face value without reasoning it out for themselves.

This is eactly why Apple users get the moniker "iSheep".

That would be the definition of "some". They didn't so "most" or "many" or "all".

I believe we saw a similar headline with retina macbook video issues when they first popped up. There is a class action lawsuit pending now...

Exactly.

It wouldn't be a stretch for a lot of these ridiculous threads to be the work of paid shills for a certain company who will remain nameless.

Just as plausible as bending in pocket.

no that would be definition of few, not some.
