That Apple email about the 23rd was F'd up

You obviously have not dealt with my local Fedex hub.
Going to pick a package up there is a 3 hour ordeal - and I'm not dealing with that.
please refer to the bunch of other threads about being at the sort facilities.... the website is slow, bitch when it doesn't come however it's very different then what the tracking shows. I wish everyone was required to go through one launch without posting before being able to post during the next launch..... this same crap happened with the ipad.
I shift my day around for a lot of different kinds of deliveries. Now run along and go mock the dummies that are going to waste an entire night and day standing in a line.
How about we STOP saying it's "just a phone" and look at it as a $600 device that people don't want left on their front porch for someone to steal.

I guess that's what I hate about local UPS - the hassle. Dealing with my local FedEX is a breeze.
I've been through this rodeo about 9 times with apple launch products.
I have MULTIPLE Fedex packages coming today. Every single one of them says its out for Delivery except the Apple package.
Why WOULDN'T I doubt that its coming today?
Mine says it left Memphis yesterday at 4:11 PM but it hasn't arrived anywhere yet. It is coming to Michigan. I am certain it has arrived somewhere. The system just isn't getting updated like it should. I think it was several hours after 4:00 that the status updated to that.
Mine also says it is on time for delivery June 23rd by 3:00 (ordered from AT&T). I suspect someone at the house will give me the next status update I see (delivered) before the website updates.
this is the same message that has been said since the day it was in china.... it's always been in route to your local facility.
I received the 23rd email. Fedex shows the 24th and that it is at sorting facility. However, I just called Fedex and they tell me it is on truck for delivery today. I spoke with someone in tracing department. The rep had more info than a regular rep. They are the ones you talk to if you want to go to facility and pick up a package which is actually what I was wanting to do. But since it is on the truck I don't need to.
FYI if you want to pick up at facility be sure and let them know you made arrangements to be home today because Apple informed you it would be the 23rd. Otherwise they will tell you they must make one delivery attempt before you can pick it up.

This is fairly common. Fedex is a little behind in updating status with this. Just hang in there, I bet you will receive it today.
You need to understand that these shipments are not your normal single package coming to you that gets easily scanned at each point. They are huge consolidated shipments with thousands of iPhones on pallets that have to be broken down into individual shipments. It's a much more complicated and involved procedure.
It was the same last year with the 3GS. Many people didn't have their tracking info updated much and it just showed up, so I wouldn't get too agitated yet. You are very likely to get it today. I hope that you do.
There's a post in another thread where someone states they got their phone at 7:50 this morning and the FedEx website still says it's sitting at a FedEx location. Even if it's for some reason only happening to iPhone packages, it seems there is just a large delay in the shipment status being updated.

the op's last update said at dest sort facility and was delivered, the website doesn't even reflect as being that... international packages especially ones with a rush often are screwy.... have no fear it will get there, see ya at the next launch.
I think you are jumping the gun. Tomorrow, post how messed up the e-mail is. Today, wait for your phone. I don't know your situation, or where your phone is, but tracking information is only about 80% accurate. So far my package only missed 1 scan completely, the fact that it cleared customs in Alaska, but my point is that here in Denver, it is not uncommon for packages to hit the destination sort facility at 9 or even 10am then have another scan the same minute saying out for delivery. Tracking can be BS, get angry tomorrow.
Seriously, the day hasn't even started yet. Some fedex guys like to get the business deliveries out in the morning and then the residential stuff in the afternoon. OP is just being overly obsessive.
