That Apple email about the 23rd was F'd up

There is a VERY good chance you will get your phone today! My FedEx tracker says that my phone is in Memphis, and I literally just received my iPhone seconds ago in FLORIDA.

I'm guessing that they were not able to scan every item since it was such a mad rush to get everything out today!

Be positive! :)
 
I agree 100%. I scheduled a nice 4 day weekend with Thurs and Fri off. Then Apple sends an email out promising a June 23 delivery so I move things around at the last minute.

How's it going to look if I have to say, "Gee sorry about that, they were wrong. I need tomorrow off again." Why stay home? Because it's an expensive item and this is the only time it'll not be by my side :)

If they never sent that email out, I'd be absolutely fine. Don't promise what you can't deliver (no pun intended).
 
I keep hearing delivery trucks pulling up but nothing yet... I honestly don't believe the tracking on the Fedex site is accurate at all today.

Normally, I see "out for delivery" before this time.
 
I am getting two different updates on my tracking number depending on if I go on-line or call FedEx. Both have my phone as being scheduled for today though.

Apple maybe could have chosen their words a little better in that e-mail, but I took that e-mail as just one more piece of evidence that this whole launch was a lot messier than anticipated. You simply can not launch half a million phones in 3 days and please everyone.

Yes, often I have seen Fedex show, for example, "at destination sort facility" and just sit there. Then suddenly, at 10am or 11am, it changes to "out for delivery" with a time stamp of 6am or something like that. The web site is not 100 percent accurate at all times.
 
My fedex tracking info on the web says" departed memphis" but I received my iphone ten minutes ago. lol
 
It's a phone, and you rearranged your entire schedule for it? Seriously? Thats your own fault. A grown adult should be able to figure out a place to get it delivered without the need to change their day around. Neighbor? Friend? Local UPS Store, etc? I have no pitty for people who base their schedules around a device delivery.

Heh, it seems to give some people more and some people less. Like me It's tracking with fedex now, but in the past its been a step behind
 
People are receiving them!!!!

Check out the "I Just Got My iPhone" thread by Mikeone. It is now up to two pages long (40 posters so far). A lot of people who have received their phones report that FEDEX web site still listed their phones as being at some distant site when they were being put in their hands.

Do I have mine yet? No. Am I worried? No! If it comes today will I be happy? You better believe it! If it doesn't will I be upset? Only a little, Apple and FEDEX say I will get it therefore I will get it.
 
Mine arrived at the local sort facility at 5 am and just now updated. So the website is about 5 hours behind. So don't trust the site atm.

FedEx said mine was still in Memphis, but the FedEx guy just dropped it off..
 
fedex states at sort destination. Simpletracking states left ramp at sort destination. btw the world cup and this it's a frantic day.

Thanks for sending out that email Apple - you managed to have me change my schedule around for absolutely nothing. I think everyone would have been better off if they had just "surprised" a few people on the 23rd - then at least it wouldnt have been necessary to reschedule 2 days worth of crap.

Don't worry about the haters. Many folks are in the same situation you are. Anyway, I only skimmed this thread and after the responses I understand if you don't post more details, but one of my phones says delivery today and the other on the 24th. They are both at the sort facility and with what I've read today I'm optimistic they will both be delivered this morning.
 
Pnutts, I'm in the same situation as you except I have one for delivery today, which already came, and two for delivery tomorrow, which did not....

All 3 got the email.

So I agree with the OP, the email is effed up. Unless FedEx comes twice in one day, which I doubt..
 
my friend just told me his was in New Jersey yesterday and today it is showing it in Memphis...he lives in North Carolina.

he also received the email about the 23 delivery.
 
basing your life, schedule and work around a iphone delivery is full of LOLZ.

how stupid can people be?
