Are you buying the 6S even after knowing a 16gb will be released?

Not sure you understand how corporate email works...

The email sync doesn't keep the content of all your emails on your phone (at least not when used with a corporate email server such as Exchange). I ran 16 GB iPhones for years, filled them up and never, ever had a single issue with email.

You DO NOT need to delete emails from the phone. My mailbox on the server is many GB, and it is not stored on the phone. For most of my iPhone 3G - 4S lives, they had multiple GB free and were all 16 GB phones.

If you are attempting to use your phone as the single source for your email, you're making a huge mistake anyway. If the phone was to get damaged or lost, you're screwed.

I was referring to using the email mail app. If your cooperation requires an different app then it's up to how that s programmed. I have 4 different email accounts on my iPhone 5s using the mail app and according to my iPhone I'm I'm using over 5gb of data from all the downloaded emails. When i delete them from my phone it doesn't delete from the server but I have to delete in order to regain space.

I am using the built in mail app.

Sounds like you are using POP3 based e-mail, which no serious business uses.

That's what the mail app uses right? Is there a different way to set it up?

Depends on the mail server you are connecting to. If you connect to exchange (as most businesses run these days), it just caches mail on the server while you are dealing with it, rather than downloading to the phone permanently.

I love Apple. Why else would I be on here?

They make the best products in the world, and my net worth has doubled in the last few years thanks to Apple.

But it really is a dick move to continue putting 16GB in the base iPhone instead of 32GB.

I'm not saying it isn't smart. I'm not saying it isn't profitable. I'm just saying that it's a dick move.

It punishes the technologically uninformed and the fiscally prudent, who can only understand price tags but not value.

I'm not writing this because I have a major gripe. I just enjoy occasionally procrastinating via MacRumors.

Also, I heard someone else use the phrase "Dick move" the other day in another context, and I gave myself the challenge of using the same phrase within the next 24 hours.

Thanks Apple. Thanks MacRumors. All y'all are awesome, even the haters...

These threads never get old...just because you deem 32GB necessary for your needs doesn't mean other people do. Some people are perfectly fine with 16GB. There are viable options that doesn't require storage for some such as music streaming, storing photos in the cloud, dropbox, etc. Thanks for sharing the word/phrase with us though.

Marketing has always been a dick move, haven't you heard?

If 16Gb really bothers you, get the 64Gb.

And if you're really budget conscious (still buying Apple products?), I would kindly suggest you buy a cheap Xiaomi instead. That's definitely a budget friendly move.

Even if someone doesn't need 32GB, it certainly is not hurting them to get 32GB as the baseline instead of 16GB. I personally don't care that much what the baseline storage is because I get the 128GB model anyway, but I do think it's kind of cheap of Apple to maintain what is essentially a bottom-of-the-barrel baseline storage.

welcome to last year...? plenty of threads on this. Buy it or don't buy it. Not that hard. I easily made a quick decision on the iP6 to go from 16GB to 64GB on my purchase. no lost sleep or starting a thread on it. you'll get used to enjoying free space.

Doing that will eat into the 64Gb sales because some folks out there are nervous that 16Gb isn't enough to hold their stuff.

And that's the whole idea of offering 16Gb.

Apple has a fiduciary responsibility to enrich their shareholders at all costs - not their customers, employees and certainly not the "technologically uninformed and the fiscally prudent".

It's not quite as black-and-white as that, but I understand and agree with what you're saying. I also am seeing a growing backlash over 16GB as the baseline storage, and believe that Apple will have to respond at some point.

A) Lots of people don't need more than 16GB. Businesses in particular, who are buying phones for their staff, likely don't want to get more than that for those phones, since, you know, they're to be used for work purposes. Not loading up with videos and LivePics and hundreds of games...

B) 32GB wouldn't be enough for me and lots of other people, so they'd end up spending the $100 to upgrade to 64GB anyway.

C) And yes, I think the greater "tragedy" of the situation is not offering MORE storage as an option, especially considering there's no expandable storage. But even that's a "meh" for me, as I'm happy with the middle option anyway.

If i look with another perspective i think it's not quite as bad as we thought. If 16 gb is not enough you pay $100 to get 4 times more space. Back then you get 2 times more space.

But this is a consolation for us. :D

16 gB in an iPhone is in the same class of moves as a 1TB 5400 rpm HDD in the mid range 2014 Mac mini.
hwrdrrk has the right of it.

Ummm, no... If anything, it would be equivalent of a 64GB SSD in a 2014 Mac. The 16GB is just as fast of memory (from whatever I've seen) as the 128GB.
