You car analogies are flawed in the way you're making comparisons.

If I were to want to buy a BMW, I would expect a certain number of options/craftsmanship to be in the baseline model, no matter what my needs are. Only after I've made certain of this then do I make my choice of the number of seats that I need (to re-use your comparison).

What everyone is saying is that Apple is no longer living up to expectations by offering 16gb as a baseline model.
The flaws have been pointed out many times...and ignored just as many.

Your expectations. Not the market.

This is proven by the strong sales of the 6/6+ and now the 6s/6s+.

If 16GB was such a big deal Apple would not be breaking all the records.

You are a techie. Of course 16GB isn't enough for YOU. But it is fine for TENS OF MILLIONS of people.

Passenger capacity = GB capacity

Some people are 100% fine with a car that carries only 2 passengers.
Just like many people are fine with a phone with only 16GB.

I don't understand why this is so hard to process.

Apple needs to move with the times and sacrifice a small amount of its profit margins. I'm far more inclined to believe what the media has to say on iPhone profit margins, than you who can't string an argument together.

I'm referencing SEC reports. The media is referencing guesses. But if you want to rely on guesses by a fix-it tear down shop instead of SEC reports go ahead. Any financial expert will ignore fix-it estimates when clear SEC reports signed by oath by the CEO/CFO of the company is available.

iPhone is a premium product.
You need to expect to pay more for an iPhone than the competition.

iPhone 6s - 64GB - $750
Samsung S6 - 32GB - $650

So you will pay $100 more for the iPhone than the Samsung. Thats the price to pay to get the best.

The Galaxy S6 is also a premium smart phone. I can hardly call a phone stuck with circa 2009 base storage 'The best'. The same as last year when the 6 was stuck with 1GB of ram, circa 2012.

Next year Apple will get rid of the 16gb. Let's see how you will defend that

there will be nothing to defend.

Answer this question: Who is in the best position to determine what customers needs/wants are? Who has the most available data on iPhone users GB storage used and available?

Apple will sell 230,000,000 iPhones this year.
Samsung will be lucky to sell 50,000,000 galaxies this year.

iPhone average selling price is $650-$690
Samsung galaxy is $550-$600

Pretty easy to see which one the MARKET views as premium.

In your 'galaxy' go ahead a feel free to think the Samsung is the best. But in the real world the numbers are undisputable.

And if it was so easy. If it was so easy that GB = premium phone. Then Samsung/HTC/LG would simply put 128GB in their base phone and they would out sell the iPhone. LOL. Storage on a phone does not make a phone premium. It just determines how MUCH you can put on a phone. That's like saying a Van that fits 8 people is more premium than a Ferrari that fits 2 people. OLOOLOLOLOLOLOOOLOLL!!!

Your argument is a joke. McDonalds sells more than a high end restaurant - does that make it the premium because the market buys more of it?

Just as a non retina display is probably good for 10s of millions of people. Just like an A5 processor is probably fine for 10s of millions of people.

Does that mean Apple should charge a premium for those who want modern tech, because it will better their bottom line? Obviously not.

Absolutely correct. And those people who are fine with the A5 won't upgrade.

It's so hilarious that you are getting out of control saying the 16GB phones are a ripoff. Yet the 6s+ 16GB phones are ALL SOLD OUT 2 weeks before release. LOL. Listen to the market. They have ZERO problem with 16GB. You are NOT the market. You are ONE person who feels 16GB is bad. But millions feel 16GB is perfectly fine.

Apple don't care. They care for their profit margins more than customer experience.

If thats your opinion you should switch to Android or Microsoft phone.

Because you know those vendors only are about customer experience. LoLOOLOLOLOLOOoloololOLOLOOLOLO!!

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + 64GB = £829

iPhone 6S + 64GB = £699

Pretty easy to see which one the market views as premium

BMW sold 2.1 million cars in 2014
Honda sold 4.3 million cars in 2014

So, in your world, Honda MUST be better than BMW, right?

You're a fool. Apple would sell out if they were putting outdated specs in the iPhone. That doesn't make it the right thing to do. And you misread what I was saying (how surprising). By your argument you would be perfectly happy for Apple to sell its premium smart phone with an outdated CPU and GPU because thats all a lot of people need.

Your argument is a joke. McDonalds sells more than a high end restaurant - does that make it the premium because the market buys more of it?

And thats EXACTLY why I included the Average selling price.

The iPhone is the highest in the business BY FAR at $650-$690

BMW sold 2.1 million cars in 2014
Honda sold 4.3 million cars in 2014

So, in your world, Honda MUST be better than BMW, right?

So you totally ignore the part about the iPhone having the highest selling price in the industry at $650-$690?

I'm confused whether you're tim cook or a kid with nothing better to do than insert immature "LoLOOLOLOLOLOOoloololOLOLOOLOLO"'s into your sentences to distract us from the fact that your arguments are so poor they don't hold.

But anyway, this is not about me, I'm not shopping for a new phone, more advocating that Apple should stop bean counting (the path that lead them to nearly breaking in the 1990s) but focus on experience, and the simple fact is that a 32 GB base model at the 16GB price would provide the best experience for all Apple users.

You should just by a Samsung and report to us in 2 weeks.

Then you will realize the $100 for the 64GB is well worth it.
