I hate to point this out, but draft picks. The playoffs start tomorrow. Draft picks are for the 'we couldn't get it together this year teams' and Columbus & Phoenix.

Don't forget the 'my goalie was signed to a 15 year contract and injured his other hip during the ASG and failed to disclose it to the medical staff until late march, thus effectively ending the season much later than necessary teams'

Oh. Right.

I think of the Habs as my cute overachieving sister- how can you hate that?

Chances are she is/is going to be a whore.

To Don: Weeks pulled threw pretty well, and no offense but I didn't think DP was that good to begin with. Again no offense, but I loved playing you guys when you had him in, because we always destroyed him.

To Roland: There are no games yet!! We need something to talk about, however come tomorrow there will probably be no mention of said Draft Lottery until next fall.

Weeks? As in Kevin Weekes on the Devils?

DP has moments of brilliance, he idolizes Marty (his words). But he ain't anywhere near that skill level. Is he good yes, is he a top 5 goalie, no. Can he be? perhaps.

Weren't there rumors of you guys getting him? Or am I just imagining that?

You guys should try and pick up Danny Sabourin chances are we will be letting him go. We don't have a need for 3 goalies if you ask me, and I am pretty sure he won't want to play on the baby pens for much longer.

Wednesday is finally here. Added to which we play tonight. Four games on the docket.

7PM EST
Rangers @ Devils
Sens @ Pens

9PM EST
Avs @ Wild

10PM EST
Flames @ Sharks

Let the Quest begin!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!

The 2nd most is when Hockey starts and baseball playoffs start. Mmmm...

I'm very happy that both the Sens/Pens game and the Flames/Sharks games are on Versus out here!

I get to start watching playoff hockey at 4 pm! Huzzah!

I gotta move out west. I want to see all the games!!! ALL OF THEM!!!

MST has it best. The East coast games start at 5 or 5:30 so I can catch the 2nd n 3rd periods, maybe even some of the first. And then my games start at 7 or 8 which isn't too late.

But we also have the best time zone for tv shows and sunday football. Our primetime is 7-10pm not 8-11. And football starts at 11am on sunday with afternoon games at 2pm. We like it. We like it a lot.

Pacific gets screwed a bit, b/c pro and college football starts a little too early as does NHL playoff action.

I feel like I'm in Canada with all the games that are being shown here- and both Canadian teams too. It's like CBC HNIC!

I'm going to miss Coach's Corner and Behind the Mask....

<- Is jealous.

NHL.com is streaming (for free) a whole bunch of delectable goodies. That might compensate.

I was actually watching the trade deadline at work. :D

Sigh....no Leafs again. :(
Well there's only a few Leaf players right now that deserve to be in the running honestly. :( There's been a lot of talk here that Sundin has to go else where to get his (rightfully deserved) Stanley cup ring. It's a shame that such a consistently good player has to deal with the luck/fate/curse/mis-management of the Toronto Maple Leafs

Timeout.... you're a Maple Leaf fan but you want the HABS to go far. There is something very wrong with that statement.
Oh well that whole Habs-Leafs thing is a little old, the spite from Toronto hockey fans mostly is directed at the Ottawa Sens. ;)

This year I don't even know who to cheer for... maybe I should watch the draft picks and look for a better future for Toronto's cup hopes.

Old? It never gets old. Rangers/Islanders, never EVER gets old. It's just that good.

I'm rooting for whoever plays the Rangers. So right now... LET'S GO DEVILS!

His problem is that he doesn't want to go anywhere else. He doesn't deserve a Stanley Cup ring (no one deserves one- you have to earn it). Why? Because he doesn't do whatever it takes to win the cup. He had an opportunity at the trade deadline to be traded to basically the team of his choice, but instead, he decided to stay so he could help keep the Leafs out of the running for a top draft pick. I appreciate his loyalty, but it was time for him to go this year. The writing was on the wall this season for the Leafs at training camp. Did you see that roster?

Not only could the Leafs have got some good, young players for him, they could have got a first rounder to boot. He decided to stick around, and because of that, the Leafs just missed the playoffs. Again. They were just good enough for 12th in the conference. It would have been better for the team if he and the other guys in the no-trade clause club would have allowed Cliffy to make some moves to rebuild. Instead, we have stagnation, which is business as usual for MLSE.

But who cares now. It's playoff time, and the Leafs are golfing.

I have no love for the Devils. So while not a Rangers fan, and certainly not a Jagr and even more certainly not a Shanahan fan (see previous team), I am a Drury fan (see original team) so I gotta say if I have to choose sides, I choose NY.

What no one has been talking about yet is the interesting factor that while sure they played during the season, now Scott Gomez goes against his former team for an entire playoff series. But I just don't see much in the way of bad blood. The Devils just don't really get into to it too much with anyone. Kinda bland now that Stevens has been gone. Added to which, Brodeur just reminds me a of boy.

I'd rather die than root for the Rags.

I certainly don't have love for the Devils, but I respect Marty. Marty = filthy.

Scotty Stevens, he was D-man if I ever saw one. The Devils have some guys that can get under your skin, but not as much as Stevens did. With that said Devils v Rags is gonna be an exciting series. They hate each other.

I can respect Marty.
Scott Stevens. No. There are D-Men and there are Dirty D-Men. He was a dirty player. Out to hurt people with elbows to the head and bad crosschecks to the boards. Now he never swung a stick at anyone or tried to step on someone's ankle, at least not that I can remember, but he was still dirty.

I never said I respected Stevens. He played hard and dirty. Chris Simon now there's a gentleman and scholar of the game.

Unfortunately we play that loose canon in our series. Worse is that he actually played for us one year. Seriously, the only reason he hasn't gotten banned is Campbell and Bettman have no balls.

I think this is going to be a great series though, and as much as I dislike both teams, I am hoping for some great highlights, and some one taking out Jagr.

I am so excited for the Pens v Sens, All of the Jerseys on campus is just a great sight to see. After last year, it will be awesome to beat some Ottawa ass.

Here, here. You guys better beat their asses. I have some allegiance to Pittsburgh- my brother lived there for 7 years while at CMU. Great town.

And as for Jagr- I've heard that he's going to be playing in Russia next year. Anyone else hear that?

I heard just about the same thing, but I think I heard the reason was because he wants to play in the Olympics, but that doesn't make sense to me, because wouldn't he have to play for the CZE team?
