Regarding release date. Ever since I saw this teaser of their notebook event, I've had this gut feeling Apple would release the mini, imac and macpro all at once during a "The spotlight turns to desktops" event.

HOLY CRAP YOU GUYS I WAS JUST E-MAILED THE NEW ANNOUNCEMENT!

Mhmm. :D

sure, but it's another thing to have somebody tell you that they're using a test machine... that's just lying for ad revenue. /snip

While I don't disagree that they're not necessarily the most reputable, a quick look at those direct links do not have ads on those pages. Well, ok, I just checked one of them. Of course, it does drive hits on their site which they can use to leverage better ads on the mainpage etc, but there are at least no ads directly on these article pages.

No OpenCL yet and the the relations with Nvidia previously hadn't been that good.

Which makes me wonder, doesn't OpenGL natively support multiple GPU's? If so then WTF Apple?

Edit: It looks like Crossfire support for OpenGL was added in Catalyst 7.3 (if I remember the scheme correctly that should be March 2007). It also appears that if there is no application profile the driver will auto select SFR.

Too bad that looks way too ghetto to be anything officially released by apple. Nice try though...you had me excited for a second...then depressed again. I really want a Mac Pro, but figured I'll wait and see what comes out, and see how much the current line drops in price and make my decision then :)

Don't worry, I've set a price on his head.
$2000, or $3000 if he gets shot to pieces with slugs made out of old Dell computers.

If slugs wern't made of Dell computers anyways, how could they afford to sell ammo at Walmart ?

Other way around!
Dell computers are made of slugs ;)

Walmart were using Dell slugs up until two years ago when they got their hand on a large party of Gateway computers :D

Where's the re-design?!

How did you end up with so many pixel artifacts in such a simple pshop job, it's almost as if you were trying to make it looks ghetto! :D

I threw three alphaed jpegs together in Seashore and paint bucketed a black background with some Myriad Pro Semibold letters.

Not ghetto, just didn't really care. :D

True. ;)

But I seriously doubt they're the only site that does that sort of thing (intentionally). :(
anyway, wikipedia also has them described as notoriously unreliable... and i have the utmost trust in EVERYTHING on wikipedia
While I would put more trust into Wikipedia, there's bound to be a mistake or two. ;)

How great would it be if the Nehalem Mac Pro was announced surprisingly early tomorrow morning~!!

I bet a lot of 17" unibody mbp cancellations, LOL.

did I miss anything??! Is their updated news on the release date?! whats going on!!!!

He said it would be cool if they would come out tomorrow.

I said that it's impossible because Gainestown isn't in production yet.

You didn't miss anything; don't worry. ;):(

Also... Radeon 4600 series kext in Snow Leopard. That means the 4650 is confirmed. Epic, man, epic.

It also has 3600-series drivers which never appeared on the Mac.
