For one, as attractive as this type of recessed handle may be, they are entirely non ergonomic. Imagine the pressure exerted on wrists that try to lift this much weight in the twisted positions suggested by the inward-facing orientation of these handles. It is much more natural to be able to approach them in a supinated position from the outside of the case as opposed to the inside.

Not to mention production costs would go WAY up. How in the Hell would they manufacture that thing? My version coming soon...

... I wasn't interested in playing with Photoshop until I realized I could get [it] free through educational institutions.
m1stake, care to explain what you're talking about? I've only seen "educational discounts" for Adobe software (maybe 1/2 price or so), not FREE copies.

(I would have PM'd this, but m1stake doesn't have PM enabled)

Whoops, I don't know why I wrote free. I meant $310 for Design Premium. If nothing else, I could stop using goddamn notepad to write sites in.

IU has a license agreement with Adobe where all students and faculty can get Adobe products for free...

Have you ever looked at Maxwell Render?... (example) it is quite impressive, albeit a resource hog (hence my need for a mac pro:D), I've been playing with it for my architectural renders, but terragen or vue might be great for landscapes, I'll have to look at it.

A.) That's not a real photo?

B.) If not what the **** was the point, you could have taken the same picture with a camera.

in line

So, here's my $.02. I don't see Apple going with the glass sandwich. All the material choices they make are always scrutinized from a practicality standpoint. Plastic is out, and there is no practicality in a glass computer. Even a glass apple is a stretch, but I included it anyway because it looks hott. I do see the handles and perforations tapering in for a lighter, more modern look - obviously, like the MB/MBPs. It would also have a hint of the good ol' PowerMac G4. Anyway, this is what I see happening.

The point is that the building in the picture is a 3d digital image... the miracle of accurate light simulation and high quality rendering:D

Where this comes into play is in presenting products to a client it is nice to be able to show them something that is so realistic that they have no trouble seeing it as a real product.
It is also an invaluable asset to be able to accurately visualize and represent shadow, light (indoor and outdoor) and material throughout varying time scales. You cannot always just build something to see if it really casts too much shadow.

Has anyone noticed that the single quad-core Mac Pro is not available on many computer eStores anymore? They're all "On Backorder."

his quote was in response to why one would need 8 cores

crysis is not really a reason as that game is gpu dependant, not as much cpu

I remember that Crysis could actually take advantage of all 8 cores. But not well, and certainly not even close to 100%. I remember most of the cores were barely working.

I thought they were BTO only. But then again, I think a lot of things.

As a SP variant of the Mac Pro I really like that.

I'm just hoping there's a GTX 280 or better.. The one place Apple has always lagged behind is in the graphics card department.
