I don't think they ever really had a chance.

Had Malkin gotten the suspension, like the rules said, they would not have won game 3. They may have won game 4, but it would have been harder.

Neither did I (I was responding to Alexwithad's post when I made the "golden" comment).

Suspension or not, this series had 6 games written all over it from the start.
 
Detroit needs to get their ***** together ... A 5-0 shutout last game, and now they are down 2-0 in the third.

Sweet, as I complain they score. I need to complain more.
 
Come on. Detroit needs to convert one of these power plays. TIE THIS GAME!

EDIT: Game 7 ... Detroit will take it, the Pens cannot win in Detroit.
 
Was a good game but I see no reason why Detroit doesn't take this in game 7. And shocker: it was on an actual real tv network.
 
Pens along with other teams have the problem of getting ahead, and not giving it their all. When they won those 2 home games in a row and went back to Detroit they didn't play their best & full potential. But they reorganized & regrouped to come back and win game 6. Game 7 will be good. Pens know what they have to do to win and are more than capable of bringing the cup back to the burgh.
 
Man, I thought we were going to lose our lead in the third, but then Scuderi made three awesome saves. Interesting to note, "scuderi" is Italian for shield-bearer (well, technically shield-bearers) and shares etymological roots with the English word "squire."

I always thought it was a great name for a defenseman, and last night Scuderi definitely lived up to his name. 😀

Sure he had a bit of luck (just like the Red Wings did in the first two games), but you can't deny that he did an awesome job blocking the net while Fleury was out of the crease. He blocked three shots while managing to keep his hand off the puck, which bought Fleury enough time to grab it with his glove.

Anyone can win now. Crazy.

In terms of probability, the odds are against the Pens because of Detroit's home record, but how much does that really matter in a winner-take-all game 7?

As long as the Pens have the right attitude and focus, and as long as they don't try to force the play and don't squeeze the stick too hard, they can pull off the upset.

On the other hand, the Wings just need to play the way they always play at Joe Louis. They don't really have to do anything out of the ordinary. They have to treat it like any other game. But the pressure is on them because people EXPECT them to win. But I guess they've always had that pressure, so that's nothing new to them.

GAME 7 FOR THE CUP!


There is only one thing that is 100% certain for that night: Gary Bettman will have the crap booed out of him when he presents the Cup to the winners......😀

Speaking of people that don't like Bettman, here's a link to Jim Balsillie's MakeItSeven.ca website. I really hope that this works out somehow and Hamilton gets the Coyotes.

It even looks like Balsillie is prepared to pay the ridiculous $100 million relocation fee on top of the $215 million he offered for the team!
 
I did a quick search after the announcers mentioned that Muhammed Ali fought Edmonton Oiler Dave Semenko in the 80's. It really happened!

Anyways...... I just hope it's an exciting Game 7. So far..... not so much.
 
^^^^ Yeah, I just caught a holding the stick penalty and a slashing penalty that the refs missed.



THIS is the game that the Red Wings decide to take off?
 
well this sucks.

crosby's gonna get a ring and he's not even playing after he hurt his vagina in the 2nd period.
