I think Japan are a better side than a lot of people give them credit for, but England should have made easier work of it than that...
... what is it with missing penalties and england ... after all with penalties there is only so much bad luck... in fact of the last ca. 30 years since introduction chez republic has scored 100% of all their penalties at big tournaments, the germans 92,5%
and the english ? 67% .. only beating the worst team.. the netherlands with 66%
England should start Joe Cole in a withdrawn position behind Rooney. Anything else is sure to fail IMO.
They'll be fine just as long as they're not drawn in the same group as England...Haven't seen the draw yet, but the USA could shock some folks. Let's hope they get a decent grouping.

Much! Unless we're planning on taking the Japanese team. It was one of those games where we just weren't going to score, no one really stood out. Is it too late to look for another 23?![]()
Anybody know where I can download a decent wallchart or excel spreadsheet for the work?
I'm predicting England are going to face France in the quarterfinals and Brazil in the semis, if they get that far. So this could be a very good tournament for England. Getting knocked out by Brazil is always a great face-saver.![]()
There have been a fair few complaints about the ball already from players. The 'keepers normally voice concerns Buffon, Casillas, and Cesar are a few to have been critical so far but some outfield players are also a bit worried too it seems. The fact that the air is thinner at some of the venues apparently adds to the unpredictability.
Personally, I've not tried kicking one of the balls but rest assured that if I did it would be sliced horrifically anyway due to my compete inability to kick a football properly.Anyway, we all know it's only a proper football if it's a Telstar or a Tango...
Don't know exactly what you want - this is the top result in Google.
Maybe I should just ignore it and do some work whilst waiting for the official announcement!
