I consider myself a Liverpool fan, and should probably be pleased for Charlie Adam now that he's there.

However, I watched the game yesterday and he seemed to take ages on the ball almost every time he got it, and he clearly has a penchant for hitting 30 yard no-hopers in open play. He did it the other night during the Denmark game as well. I find him a bit frustrating to watch, but when he gets a free kick or corner, you almost always get a good one.

Cheer up Cesc, it may never happen.

Oh, hang on – it looks like it has.

Sunderland gave him too much time. Mark him and? Deadball though.

Carragher was lucky he didn't get sent off - no mention on Match of the Day:rolleyes:

Nani was poor today, Fabio asleep, and hopefully de Gea is having a Vidic/Evra start and pulls it together - can see his diet being changed to add a bit of bulk.

Fabregas - it can't be over! Sneijder/Goetze to Manchester United every summer just isn't the same

Barton - being unfair to him, 'Sweet And Tender Hooligan'.

Cheers,
OW

Possibly true, but can you afford to man-mark Charlie Adam when facing Liverpool? He's not the talisman for the Reds the way he was for Blackpool.

Classic Ferguson performance form Man U - flat performance but ground out a win somehow. Last season really demonstrated how important he is for the club. I really don't see the roster as world-beating but somehow Ferguson gets results with them.

The boy Fabregas is currently undergoing the second of two medicals, the first at a hospital and now at Barcelona's medical centre. Perhaps these rigorous tests will finally answer the long asked question of whether he really does have Barca DNA.

EDIT: I'm watching the press conference now, and they've dimmed the lights to show a montage on the screens of Fabregas' career to date, from his Barca youth team days all the way to his recent Arsenal exploits. It was all set to the sound of The Police's Every Breath You Take – a song whose lyrics deal with the subject of an obsessive, jealous stalker. Possibly not the most appropriate choice given Barca's long standing fanatical pursuit of the player. :D

Good gravy, as if this transfer wasn't enough of a production already...not to mention the fact that he's hardly their marquee player. So much fuss!

Some significant injuries to Man U's back-line. This will be a real test for Fergie's rebuilding project. Vidic may be back soon but Raphael and Ferdinand will be long-term losses.

Robbie Keane has signed a deal to come from West Ham United to the LA Galaxy!:D

It just shows how the MLS likes to import old talent :p

Hopefully he can help us win an MLS cup this season :/

Since galaxy have 3 designated players (Beckham, Donovan, Keane) Juan Pablo Angel got traded to Chivas USA

Angel hasn't scored a lot of goals in a Galaxy shirt, but his strike rate was better than 1 in 2 at New York, and you can't ask for better than that. He's 35 though, which makes Keane (at 31) a relative child.

Has he appeared in a shirt yet, kissing the badge and declaring he's home?

Ask and ye shall receive:

i was going to put Aguero in my fantasy team but I didn't think he was going to play this week. Comes of the bench, scores one, sets one up, still 19 minutes left.

I had him in, but took him out on Saturday morning.

Still, I'm consoled by the fact that I replaced him with Dzeko and installed David Silva as my skipper. ;)

EDIT: Bang. Great strike.

That Aguero looks like a real weapon. Carlos who? Man City need a go-to striker who isn't crazy.

Truly, the man has no shame. Not a shred. :D

At this point in time, you know a Premier League player is lying when he says that it is his "dream" to play in MLS. And I say that as someone who is a big MLS supporter.

That's what I call laying down a marker. Next thing you know he'll be scoring on Stoke, something not even Lionel Messi has done.

Columbus 3-1 New England

A great 3-1 win over the Revs this past weekend, keeping the Crew in 1st place in the east with a 10-7-7 record. Robbie Rogers continues his good form with an assist, and Emilio Renteria made his first appearance after coming back from injury and tapped in a Roger's service to notch a goal.

Unfortunately the win was marred by a fatal motorcycle accident near the stadium after the match. A member of the La Turbina supporters group plunged to his death into a water retention basin after colliding with another bike. :( Speed, lack of helmet and poor lighting in the area were all contributing factors. Also, the basin is not surrounded by any fencing or guard rails. The area in question is not under the club's control; it is part of the state fairgrounds, the parking lot of which doubles as parking for Crew Stadium. Hopefully this accident will be a wakeup call for the state to undertake the safety and convenience improvements that Crew fans and the club have been calling for for years. They only just paved the parking lot in the last year. It's a tragic end to the weekend for Crew fans.

And now for something completely different...

I nearly dropped my tea when I heard on the news that Glasgow ladies gave Jaffa a thrashing. Only to find out that we have a decent women's team who have just beaten Serbia's Spartak Jaffa.

The goals are not bad either, but appear to be in slow motion;) Note Glasgow are in the orange.

Now going to do a Google search for any Eastern European ladies adopting a Fuzzy moniker (although that appearing in my search history might land me in trouble with the Mrs.)

An amusing resume of Robbie Keane's history of boyhood favorite clubs, as collected by the Guardian:

The Guardian said:
"I have always wanted to come and play in MLS so it's the perfect combination for me and a dream come true" - Robbie Keane reveals his joy at a £3.5m move from Tottenham to LA Galaxy. Obviously …

20 August 1999: "It has always been my dream to play in the Premiership and I'm over the moon to be joining Coventry."

31 July 2000: "It's every kid's dream come true. I am absolutely delighted at the prospect of joining a world-famous club like Inter."

14 May 2007: "They say five clubs and all that, but I am very settled here [at Spurs] and am really enjoying it."

28 July 2008: "I've been a Liverpool fan all my life, going back to when I was a kid growing up in Dublin, and I always had a Liverpool shirt on my back. To be sitting here today in a Liverpool tracksuit is a dream come true."

6 February 2009: "I'm delighted to be back [at Spurs]. This is a club that's dear to my heart."

1 February 2010: "I am a Celtic fan and did not have to ask much about it. I always wanted to play for Celtic and it works for all parties."

31 January 2011: "I'm ready to help West Ham stay up. I feel I have plenty left to offer at the highest level for at least the next four or five years."
