Three red cards in the Old Firm derby, business as usual then. USA captain Carlos Bocanegra was one of them. He's obviously imbibed the local attitude. ;)

I didn't watch the game, it was a lovely sunny day in Glasgow and had better things to do than watch Celtic win the league.
From the highlights it didn't seem that bad a challange, although technically a correct sending off you'd think the ref would look at it differently if it were anything but an Old Firm and he's already sent off two from the other side (which again would probably have been yellow cards in any other game).

Neil Lennon is a petulant little man, when the day called for patience and winning the league honourably, instead he served up immaturity and dishonour. I do not like him.

Stonewall Pen and Carrick should be sent off but Ref didn't have the balls to give it.

Utd get away with yet another decision.

Meanwhile, we lost to Leicester at the weekend but me and Mrs Cake still had a lovely weekend in the East Midlands. As you can see by the view from our hotel window...

...we were rather handy for the ground. :D

Anyway, although we lost there is some good news – we're now mathematically safe from relegation. :p

Everton v Arsenal; Drenthe

Manchester United:

Looks a penalty; Carrick pushes Murphy before the box, then his stride takes him onto the outside of the Fulham player's foot when they are in the area.

I don't go with luck evens things out during a season, bad luck at 0-0 v good luck at 4-0, but Ben Arfa's dive has been balanced re Manchester United; of course, Newcastle United have Fulham's point. Manchester City can't complain; Barry should have seen a card - possibly red for the studs - and a penalty awarded to Stoke City, Balotelli should have been sent for a stamp on Etherington, and there's the Italian against Tottenham Hotspur.

Disappointed Manchester United started at a slow tempo, and they missed Berbatov's passing around the box.:)

Fuzzy14,

Not sure how Whittaker stayed on when Celtic got the second red, think both should have gone; the Rangers' player also went with his studs.

Finally, how the hell did Carrick get a bonus point?

Cheers,
OW

Götze, as somewhat expected, won't be making a move to the PL (or elsewhere) this summer......

All those wondering if Liverpool would be better without Charlie Adam will get a chance to find out, as he is out for the season with ligament damage.

I can't say it's going to hurt us that much at this point, other than the fact that it means we'll be seeing more of Henderson.

I've only ever seen him or Marek Hamsik play from okay to poorly; probably off days because they seem to be rated and I rarely see a league game.

Barca Milan great game 0-0.

The finishing was poor - as was Marseille's, though good blocking by AC Milan. Looked like Sanchez dived - sees the ball going out and puts his leg into the keeper. Of course, ITV wet themselves over it - I hope Roy Keane doesn't turn into Jim Beglin.

Milan defended their arses off,and yes he left his leg trailing and then went down obvious to me and apparently the ref. I don't think any English team would have held off Barca in that form.

Talk of strikes and petrol shortages here, which is leading to queues at the petrol pumps. For anyone thinking that panic buying is worthwhile though, two words of warning – Andy Carroll.

Whilst waiting for a pump to free up, I stuffed my face with hot pasties ;) - another link to AC, i.e. shot past.

Now you know how I felt two weeks ago. ;)

Call the engraver. With United's slightly easier run-in how could they possibly fail to win the title? Man City are a muddle - great players, but still less than the sum of their parts.

I know. At least beating City at the Emirates isn't that bit of a stretch now with their recent form/results. Still worrying that we lost to QPR. No offence to Rangers fans.

Oh yeah, like i already predicted a few weeks back, Utd will win the title. Question is will Mancini still be at the helm next season. Since he's on course to be trophyless in this one despite having spent more money.

Mancini is a decent manager, but City need the very best. They should hire Mourinho next season. He prefers to work at ultra-wealthy clubs and he always delivers silverware. Ferguson is truly irreplaceable, as Man U will discover whenever he decides to retire.

EDIT: Good news for Columbus fans, as the boys picked up an away win in Toronto, with midfielder Bernardo Anor getting the only goal of the game after Crew midfielder Milovan Mirosevic had a penalty saved. A pretty solid performance overall and with two in a row that's officially a winning streak. :D Our starting keeper remains injured and backup Andy 'Hebrew Hammer' Gruenebaum continues to put in impressive performances.

Reading 4-2 West Ham

Automatics are now looking more likely than not. Hopefully we can beat Southampton and who knows, maybe a team in blue and white hoops can with the Championship again this season...

Meanwhile, we've lost the last four, won only two of the last twelve and yet crazily we're still in ninth.

We had a good spell of defensive strengthiness but unfortunately it looks like we're going to be without our imperious central defenders for the run-in. James Chester missed yesterday with a problem hamstring, while captain jack Hobbs got carried off with a duff knee and is out for the season. Their understudies were a couple of youngsters, one of whom was making his first team debut for us. Doesn't bode well, but as discussed already we're mathematically safe. :D
