You know that independence thing you chaps were going on about? Well, we've had a bit of a think about it down here and it seems a good idea actually.

Good luck with that North Korea nukes thing, you'll be fine sorting that out yourselves. No need for us to get involved. ;)

Ah, now I see. That's the reason the British Football Team is almost English-only :D and I thought it is because all the others were just worse at football than the English ;)

On a side note. Britain seems to has its "profession" in confusing flags :) I remember a few years ago they put the Belgian flag up instead of the German one. Of course, we did not mind, as polite as we are :)

No Scots in the British mens squad, that's for sure – it would have been good to see Jordan Rhodes given a chance to shine on a big stage, I reckon.

EDIT: Our first goal in an Olympic match since 1960, and it was a Welshman who scored it. ;)

speaking about attention deflection...Nuri Sahin maybe signed by Arsenal.
As it seems I'm goning to watch more often the PL this season, thanks to the Fantasy league, so one more known face would help me a bit. Besides he's a good midfielder, too.

And they do so late afternoon just before the Olympic opening ceremony. Attention deflected, and all that...

Clever. Maybe too clever that it actually stops being clever and instead becomes blatant.

If true then thats good news. IF being the key word.

That's Life..he had some serious quarrels with Podolski back in the days, but they should be able to get along somehow.
Hope he joins a decent squad, always such a let down seeing young and talented players getting wasted on the bench (he wasn't even there). But yeah, if..

I only say IF because Wenger in predictable fashion is already denying it emphatically. Im trying not to get my hopes up unnecessarily.

I was already dreaming of how Santi Carzola would fit into our squad but that flame has already been promptly put out. Apparently selling a player for 20m Euros is considered; "...practically giving him away at that price" nowadays.

This is a club struggling financially, mind.

Don't get me wrong, you are right; but I never said that he would definitely come..but it looks good though ;) just as a loan for one year but still..I dislike this loan-system btw.

Hope they can get Cazorla and Sahin..that would be great.

Cheers!

There's something you didn't see coming ;)

Congratulations to the women's GB team on securing a quarter final place, and it was good to see the mens team getting a win.

And while we're on the Olympic theme, did someone say karma?

Spain out of the football, I know it's only the Olympics but still, after all the victories in the last few years, I expected a bit more.

Whew, back from the wilderness. Haven't even had time to shave, but since the internet was down at my place I came into the office to find out what has happened...and it isn't much I suppose.

I was never much of a fan of GM products, so it is appropriate that they are teaming up with Man Utd. ;) I heard, by the way, that the GM exec responsible for the deal has been fired... not sure if the two events are connected.

Meanwhile, in Columbus: two games, two wins, two goals for our new forward Arrieta. And we beat Stoke City. And we just signed Gonzalo Higuain's brother. Life is good.

Spain squad eliminated from the Olympics: I think European squads tend to underestimate the Central American teams (with the exception of Mexico). Honduras are a physically tough team with a few tricky players.

Hoping for a USA-Brazil final in the women's tournament.

Is this http://worldsports435.blogspot.de/2012/07/watch-sweden-vs-canada-live-streaming.html ok or just fraud? I mean I am nearly completely sure there must be something wrong, but if there is a slight chance I thought I'd ask.

Btw. if someone can't see the match GB vs Brazil here will be a trusted live stream from a German tv station this evening http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/beit...britannien-Brasilien%29?bc=sts;sta;kua1680922 (unfortunately for you with German commentary). Not wanting to get on your nerves with women's football to much :D

USA 1-0 North Korea: (Women) A tense match in more ways than one, but our women have quality on the pitch and Abby Wambach finished a great team goal. On to the knockout stages...

I'm ambivalent about the Carroll loan; we are going to take a big loss on him one way or another. If he sells for around 20 million I'd be fine with that. I'm more interested in what we get out of Borini.

Mexico is part of North America.

Pardon my geography. ;) (and apologies to any Mexicans reading this).
