Just what we needed, more pre-game. Bart Scott should be entertaining

Continuing its aggressive expansion of programming around CBS Sports’ marquee properties,
CBS Sports Network launches THAT OTHER PREGAME SHOW (TOPS), a new weekly Sunday football studio program debuting Sunday, Sept. 8 (9:00 AM-1:00 PM, ET). The announcement was made today by Sean McManus, Chairman, CBS Sports, and Executive Producer, THE NFL ON CBS, and David Berson, President, CBS Sports.

THAT OTHER PREGAME SHOW breaks from the familiar pregame show format, presenting a unique fan-focused take on all the week’s NFL and college action, headlines and hot-button issues, giving viewers all the latest information as it happens. “TOPS” will be hosted by Adam Schein along with 11-year NFL veteran Bart Scott, long-time Oakland Raiders executive Amy Trask, CBS Sports Radio’s Brandon Tierney, CBSSports.com fantasy analyst Nathan Zegura and LEAD OFF’s Allie LaForce reporting.

The show also will incorporate various forms of social media interaction, engaging the “TOPS” team with its viewers. The last hour of the show will be centered on Fantasy Football helping fans set their line-ups each week. Continuing its focus on all things football, “TOPS” will take a look back at all the college football games and performances that fans are still talking about from the previous day and look forward to the week ahead.

Yeah, yeah. We all know you like to watch the games naked and the various ways you "celebrate" would be considered indecent at a public venue! :D

Spoken like someone who has never been to a Jets game. :D

I am pretty fortunate. I found a parking lot (a private business, not official stadium parking) to use that avoids most of the traffic after the game, and it is pretty much right across the street from the stadium. When I get into my car, I can usually get on to the Interstate in about 15-20 minutes.

You're very lucky then. I remember driving by the Broncos stadium when I was out in Denver a couple of years ago and it's nice that it's close to the highway. You guys are also lucky you have huge roads with plenty of room for all the traffic.

Crappy, small New England roads + only one road in and out of the stadium area to get to the highway makes Gillette a complete cluster ****. It can take 2 hours just to get out of the parking lot and on to Route 1 after a game here, and then it's another 5 miles at 10 mph to get to the highways.

I try to go to at least one game a year, schedule permitting. But it's certainly not to have the best view of the game. It's to drink and enjoy the atmosphere, because for most of the Patriots season you're going to be freezing your arse off at Gillette.

Watching at home in HD with multiple replay angles and mic'd players is really the best experience possible. I can see Tom Brady's dimples with perfect clarity as he throws a touchdown. :D:cool:

I hear you. As much as going every few weeks turned into a chore, nothing beats the energy at the venue, no matter how many surround sound speakers you have. Trying to wrangle an invite to the Steelers or Patriots games from my buddy. Both are 1pm starts and early season so not too cold. :)

Puke.

;)

I have season tickets to the Texans, and I probably end up going to half the games. The tailgating is out of the this world, and the environment in the stadium is as good as I've experienced in sports.

However, there's nothing like hanging out with friends drinking adult beverages and eating BBQ. Even into December, we still put 2 tv's outside on the deck and hang out all day. I love watching all of the games on Sunday, and that's something I miss when I'm traveling to and from the stadium.

My kids are also at an age where they understand what we're all screaming about, so it's cool to experience it with them as well. All I have to do is tell them what color to boo and they get very into it!

Oh yeah. I agree there. It's definitely fun to go every once in a while. But I could never put up with that headache 10 times a year. Nor could I afford it.

Content distribution is rapidly moving towards online streaming. I can't see how direct tv can outbid Google.

In other news, Aaron Hernandez endicted by grand jury. Finally. I know not having the murder weapon is huge but I'd still be shocked if he walks. Since the Patriots dropped him does his huge contract affect their salary cap at all?

rough game for the Pats

Tebow Sits…Patriots Lose By 37…Coincidence?

:D

DETROIT — The Detroit Lions put up a lot of points in beating the New England Patriots on Thursday night.

But most of the talk afterward was about the suddenly stout Lions defense that forced four first-half turnovers en route to a 40-9 victory.

‘‘That’s a Hall of Fame quarterback, and we flustered him a little bit,’’ Detroit wide receiver Nate Burleson said about Tom Brady, who threw his first interception of the preseason and led New England to only three points despite playing the entire first half.

The Patriots’ first-team offense, which looked to be in midseason form in its first two exhibition games, was in preseason form Thursday at Ford Field.

I think the Tebow drama is finally coming to a close very soon. I have a sneaky suspicion a major part of the reason they brought him in was to try and help calm Aaron Hernandez down from his partying ways. Well that ship has sailed.

I think every damn guy on the offense had a fumble lol. Hopefully that's a wakeup call and they learn how to protect the damn football. Good thing it's still just tryouts.. err preseason.

He's going to get cut. CFL/Arena or bust!

At least he got a chance to experience wearing the same jersey and playing on the same field as God, even if it only was during the offseason.

ESPN the Magazine has the Dolphins winning the division with an 11-5 record and the Pats second @9-7 and no playoff spot. ???

ESPN = Experiencing Peyote Symptoms Now...?

And the Broncos winning the SB over the Seahawks.

Surprised they didn't pick Lebron james to win the AFC East instead.

ESPN has zero credibility at all. Their ratings are dropping like a rock.

Who else would win the division. Certainly not the Bills or Jets.
