he he he.

ya know the pats are going win that division with a 12-4 record.

no matter what anyone sea the will win that division outright.

and the 'Phins are gonna suck.
You really think the Pats are going 12-4. They got destroyed by the Lions. They might go 10-6 but not any better. Don't count out the fish. I don't think they will suck like in years past.

i only know these things: i hate them, they keep wearing that stupid ass ugly as ***** uniform, and they continually keep winning and being relevant every season.

I hope i'm wrong, but i bet they do win 12. Stories of their demise have been greatly exaggerated.

While they did get destroyed by the Lions - and their #1's looked awful against Detroit's #1's, preseason is still preseason. There's only so much you can take from it.

We'll see how they look in week 1 (and week 2 against the Jets after a short week). Offensively, they still have the best talent in the division (Brady counts like 5 times) - let's see how the defense holds up. If the defense is what they expect it to be, the offense may not have to be so proficient. But you can't count them out with Tom Brady under center. He has a knack (as Peyton does), for making average guys look really, really good. And with a decent run game, I don't see them falling very far.

I'm not sold on the Dolphins....they added a lot of good pieces but that doesn't always translate into wins. We'll see how much Tannehill has improved in year 2.

So me and 3 of my buddies just picked up tickets to the Sunday night opener in Dallas vs. the Giants.... We got flights and hotel and are ready to go..... The only problem is none of us have ever been to Dallas or Arlington. Any advise, tips, places to see or do? from any folks who live in the area or any folks that have been to cowboys games?

FYI we are flying in early Saturday morning so we will pretty much have all day Saturday and all day Sunday to explore. We are debating whether we should spend sunday in a bar watching the games or take advantage and explore the city.

Any specific interests that could help us narrow the options for you? There's so much to do here ranging from food, the arts, history, sports, shopping, etc.. Where is your hotel, Dallas, Arlington, Fort Worth? The metroplex is huge and you really don't want to be driving all over the place since you are here for just a short period of time.

Yeah that would help right lol :D

So we are staying at the Hilton on 2401 E Lamar Blvd. in Arlington which is about 10 minutes from the stadium I believe.

We are mostly looking to check out any famous landmarks, some good food (what is dallas known for? BBQ?) and maybe hit up some bars or an area with a good night scene. And obviously on Sunday we would like to be in the vicinity of the stadium ideally.

Ya gotta go to Billy Bob's. It's a stones throw from Cowboy's Stadium.

Adding that to the list. Thanks!

I think their greatness has been grossly overrated the last few seasons.

Yeah, winning more games than every other team in the league is "grossly overrated".

Since 2009:

Patriots: 49 wins
Packers: 47 wins
Falcons: 45 wins
Saints: 44 wins
Ravens: 43 wins
Steelers: 41 wins
Colts: 37 wins
Texans: 37 wins
Giants: 36 wins
Jets: 34 wins
Broncos: 33 wins

Who cares if you don't win the Superbowl, those numbers mean nothing in the end.

So what if they are in a powderpuff division. Win when it counts.

kinda skewed when you're in the creampuff conference. :p

So 31 teams are a complete failure every year?

Football is entertainment and winning games is entertaining. And it just so happens that over the past 4 seasons the Patriots have done that more than any other team.

Don't get me wrong, I love watching my team win championships, but 1 team wins per year, and it's only 1 of 267 football games played each season.

Looks like there's just as much AFC teams in that list as NFC teams. And of the last 10 superbowls, the team from the "creampuff" conference has won 6.

And you watch the season do see them get to the playoffs. How have the Pats done in the playoffs the past 5 years?

4 Division titles, 2 AFC Championship appearances, 1 AFC championship, and 1 Superbowl appearance where they lost by 4 points.

I know you want every reason to hate on the Patriots but have some perspective. More than half the league would kill for those results. I mean, you ask about the last 5 years.. there's 6 teams that haven't even qualified for the playoffs in at least 5 years. There's 13 teams in the league that haven't won a single playoff game in over 5 years. The Bucs, Raiders, Dolphins, Browns, Bills, Chiefs, Lions, and Bengals haven't won a single playoff game in over a decade. 14 teams (almost half the league!!) haven't played in a single conference championship in over a decade, and in that span the Patriots have played in 5 and won 3.

All of these teams & fans of these teams would kill for a single division title or playoff win, let alone a conference championship or superbowl appearance.

Talk **** all you want about the Giants beating the Pats in the Superbowl, but it's ridiculous to say that a team that has played in SIX of it's conference's championship games in the past 10 years is "grossly overrated" when you look at it in context with the rest of the league.

Ignore them, they have no perspective when it comes to New England, it's not worth the effort. If they judged all NFL teams by the standards they hold New England to, all teams would be failures. They're the worst kind of homers, the kind that can't see their homerism whatsoever. They care more about us than we do about them.

The only people holding New England to higher standards are those form New England, they were spouting dynasty years ago. Now that they are back down to reality the fans still think of them as God. They are not a great team anymore. Let go of the past.

Yeah, the team that has played in the last two AFC championship games aren't a "great team anymore." Every team in the league wishes their team would come "back down to reality" if that reality was playing in the last 2 conference championship games. ****, the Jets haven't won the big game since before we walked on the moon, but you can bet they wish they could go back to just a few years ago when they were playing in the AFC CG... now they don't even have a quarterback.

The 01-05 Patriots were a dynasty. That's what you call it when you win 3 championships in 4 years. Let's see how long it takes another team to replicate that in the modern salary cap/free agency era.

The Pats teams of the last 5 years aren't the same team as the early 2000s dynasty (even though Wikipedia considers them all part of the dynasty). The only guys that remain from the last championship team are Brady and Wilfork. But to suggest they're still not one of the best teams in the league is laughable. You lose all credibility when you say the team with the best ****ing record in the league in the last 4 years isn't good. You're just showing a complete lack of knowledge of the sport and a clear bias. Go back to baseball.

I don't know why I respond to you anymore, every time I do it, and proceed to rip you an intellectual and proverbial new ****** based on actual facts and not haterade, you never respond again. You slink off into silence until you can pull this crap again when the opportunity presents itself.

See: this post. And this one.

Once and for all, get off our ass. You say no one (you) is holding NE to higher standards in the same post that you say they aren't a good team. Once again, your credibility for anything regarding NE is complete crap.

We're happy with the recent success of our team. Are the Patriots a dynasty? No, not anymore. But they have had an actual chance at a super bowl nearly every year for the last decade. They've won far more games than they've lost. That's all any fan can ask for from their team. Lots of teams in the NFL don't make the playoffs every year.

If you put the Pats in a competitive division would they still have the success they have had the past decade. Sure early 2000's they were a legit contender, the past 5 years they have gotten in by default. They are like the Braves, who can beat them in the regular season.

I would like to see them play in a division with the Saints, Packers, Niners, Giants every year and see how they do.
