And I know we're probably both not objective about it, but what's wrong with alerting the officials? Especially if they're actually doing something illegal? I'm sure it happens more often than you would think (and it happens in other sports as well). I also think that the Jets got jobbed on some calls in the first game (again, I'm not completely objective) and that may have had something to do with it.
Do you really think that Bill B. wouldn't do the same to give his team a better chance of winning?
I wouldn't have an issue with it if it were being consistently called on every team in every game. It's not though, and that's wack. Even your link shows it isn't. The Jets have done it, too. I can't imagine lots of teams HAVEN'T done it this season. Letting that kind of call decide a game is absurd. Just have the damned kickers line up on the field alone if the issue is "player safety."
I thought about that. I don't know if Bill would have done it. I'm sure there were instances this season of teams playing the Patriots that have used that push, and I haven't heard anything about New England whining to the league. And I'm glad.

Agreed. The Vikings would have been better served by trotting out Cassel or Ponder rather than Freeman. Someone said it looked like Freeman had only been with the team for 9 minutes instead of 9 days.
Agreed. Cassel especially. I know Ponder has been hot garbage this season, but Cassel could have done a better job last night. Didn't Freeman set the record for overthrows in a game or something silly like that? He's talented, but if he keeps getting put into crap situations, his chances are going to dry up.
