Deserved, and glad they classified it as illegal even though it was not called that way on the field.

i agree. kickers are a target on any kicking play. i'd bet he was looking for him....

but... on those type of plays ya got to keep yer head on a swivel when you're the kicker...

but still it was brutal. i'm glad they are fining him.

broken jaw & cracked vertebrae... ooof!

The hit on Gronk was also awful and besides the obvious damage to the legs, there was a concussion. Looking back at that now, and seeing this more recent hit on the Bengal's kicker leads me to believe the NFL needs to change the parameters of what is a legal hit.

Hitting that hard high up will dislocate your jaw, but going low can take out the knees. There is hitting and taking down the person but then there's an obvious assault. But until the NFL changes the rules drastically, we are going to see more unfortunate injuries like this.

The league has said that it was an illegal hit (leading with the crown of the helmet) and that it should have got a PF flag. This must be especially galling to the Black&Orange, as a flag might have cost Pittsburgh 7 points on the TD runback (though, they could have gone on to score anyway) and changed who won.

A letter a kid wrote to Bengals punter. :D

Depending on how the game goes, I see Peyton throwing at least 2 or 3 against the Raiders. I think the Broncos will pull him out early if the game is well in hand.

Congrats on Peyton and TD record. I seriously thought he was going to fade in last weeks but he has plenty of gas in tank. I am not sure if it's you or the Pats that are on their tear of the AFC since you both shellac'd the competition yesterday.

Quite a few NFC teams are tough so it's hard to say who will win that conference. A couple are peaking late in season which is all that counts in this sport.

Clearly the NFL and Godell wanted Brady's record broken.

Too funny! In Manning's post game conference when asked about the record he said he would enjoy it while it lasted because " Brady would probably break it next year." The mutual respect and competitiveness between these guys is fun to watch. I think Manning's record is likely to stand for a while, but the league is becoming increasingly pass heavy year after year so it's very possible someone like Bree's or Manning could break it in the next few years.

Yikes, Von Miller out for the rest of the year with torn ACL. Bad hurt for your boys.

Crazy ending to the 49ers/Falcons game! What a way for Candlestick to go out.

Congrats to Manning on the TD record. He's put up some impressive fantasy points. ;)

Let's see if he can do it in the playoffs.

Definitely enjoyed the Pats blowing out the Ravens yesterday, especially after they beat us last year.

If Seattle were to lose to the Rams and SF win at AZ next week, the 49ers could end up hosting a playoff game at the Stick. The first thing is pretty unlikely, the second even less likely, but this might possibly not have been the swan song. Probably was, though.

If that happens Seattle deserves it. Judging by the way they played Sunday it's not out of the realm of possibilities.
