Saturday, September 28, 8:00pm EDT is the draft day/time. If anyone has an issue with that, please let me know and we'll try and work around everyone's schedule.
How many of you guys actually play hockey?
Joined!
I've never actually played any fantasy sports but it sounds fun!![]()
I'm debating if I should close the hockey pool registration. Prevents there from being an odd number of players. Thoughts?
The draft is in 12 days.

When I heard about this commercial http://youtu.be/utUPth77L_o, I immediately thought of Don Cherry.
Far too long to bother watching and lacking in flair that an old whackjob in terrible suits possesses. Cherry > boring Apple promo.
It's sort of odd to have preseason hockey already, in my opinion. As with all professional preseasons, they don't really matter much for most teams. Still makes me glad the Wings downed the Pens 4-1 though. Mrazek is due to be the #2 in Detroit, but not until we get rid of Gustavsson after this year. I really wanted him to rebound after being dumped on in Toronto, but it just hasn't worked out with injuries and Howard being the work horse he is.
I have never been in a hockey pool, but why would it matter if there are an odd number of players? If there is an odd number of players, I can always get someone to join in.

How do you like my team? I'm the Canadian Mafia![]()
Leafs just lost in a SO against Philly I believe.
Haha did you guys see how empty the rink in Florida was last night?

I was actually going to post this image. It's quite embarrassing. I don't care whether its pre-season or not. If this team was moved to Canada, they would be selling out every night. It just truly shows how stupid the NHL is. They rather leave a team in a dying market, than move a team out to a potential goldmine.
At least the 25 people who attended the game had a great opportunity to win any prizes they gave away.

I don't think there's a single arena in the league that's going to fill the arena for a 2pm preseason scrimmage on a Monday afternoon. Not even Montreal or Toronto. People are at school and work.
Sensationalism at it's finest there.
There's been 10,000-15,000 people at 2pm Jays games. (Work days). The Leafs could be playing a game at 8 in the morning, and you'd have 20,000 fans lining up to get in.
You clearly don't live in Toronto if you honestly think that... Just ask any Leaf fan. (Or anyone living in Toronto.)
Jays games are for real. Preseason hockey games are not for real. They're pretend and don't count.
Jays games are a joke. I love the Jays, but they are God awful. Any pre-season hockey game would attract twice as many people as any regular season baseball game would.
You both underestimate the passion for hockey in this city. Toronto is big enough to fully support two NHL teams, and have both buildings sell out every single night for an entire season. Including the pre-season. It doesn't matter what time the game is, the building will sell out.
So you want to move the Florida Panthers to Toronto? Is that the plan now?
