Well here a change a manager who says no to a extension of his contract.

Ronald Koeman has called it time at Feyenoord, he will be in charge till the end of the season. Feyenoord were surprised and a little hurt that he wants away, there is no news on his future plans. But rumours abound that he is going to be the future manger of the national team after this years World Cup.

PEC did themselves a power of good by finally winning big at home.

Feyenoord dented Vitesse’s title hopes.

Ajax couldn’t profit from the situation as they could only draw with Utrecht.

Of the top teams only FC Twente won their game.

Top of the Eredivisie

1. Ajax 44pts
2. Vitesse 42pts
3. FC Twente 40pts
4. Feyenoord 37pts

Job done. Glad Chambo is back. Really happy that someone always steps up for us when needed.

It was important for Arsenal to win that game; it puts the pressure on Chelsea and Man City to push for maximum points.

Liverpool cannot win a game 1-0, we are just too weak at the back. Hopefully we'll get rid of Toure after this season, he's just not good enough.

Watching that goal was cringeworthy, and reminds me why Arsenal (and subsequently City) let him go. Best days are behind him sadly.

That was an odd one. I keep forgetting he's only 28, he seems to have been around forever.

What is the deal with Nani? He signed a new contract at the start of the season I think, but he has played little. Are Man Utd shopping him around? Or is he (or rather his agent) trying to engineer a move?

Yep, per Silencio - injured. He's a player who needs a run and his confidence managed. I think the contract was to protect club and player - secure pay for Nani and better price for the club if he's sold.

v Stoke City; one of those games - the right players were involved when it didn't run and the wrong players were there for the good chances.

Moyes; give him to November/December - another transfer window plus time with the new players. At this moment it could be worse, could be Denver.

Cheers,
OW

THE MASSIVE SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY WIN!

6 points for my teams* this weekend. well done.

*there is a fantasy game for ya... pick four teams from different leagues and levels and earn whatever points they earn... take 2 from whatever PREMIERE league and then 2 from any lower division.

Athletico Madrid are top of the table in Spain...it won't happen, but it would be absolutely wonderful if they won the league.

What is Arsenal's preferred result today? in terms of points I think a draw (especially a bruising encounter with red cards and injuries) is best for Arsenal.

Its a tough one. If Chelsea win we're 2 pts clear. But a Chelsea win over City would give them far too much confidence. A City win is disastrous, and a draw not much better.

If only both sides could lose. *sigh*.

I'll settle for a draw i guess.

 I can only presume he didn't play!

As for Kallstrom, it doesn't make any sense. You bring in an ageing midfielder to cover for injury, but he's already injured. I can only presume Arsene got a Spartak Moscow gift card for Xmas and needed to spend it.

Now it seems, he might not even get a game

We really shouldn't have bothered to be honest. Best to wait for Wilshere and Flamini to return and focus on other areas. Dunno if Wenger was saving money for a blockbuster move in the summer or if he was just being Wenger.

In other news, Laudrup might be the next one to be axed.

Some perspective on the Kallstrom signing: Arsenal still have a strong squad, it's only one player and he didn't cost that much. Hardly "crisis", even if it is an irritating blunder.

3 holding midfielders, 7 defensive minded players in total. Yep, sounds about right from a Mourinho team in a big game.

Brilliant strike from Ivanovic. Chelsea beginning to gain control. City still soo weak defensively due their gung-ho attitude. Also Kolarov should stop calling himself a left back. Just stick to left winger moniker.

Aguero and Fernandinho clearly being missed.

Hazard man of the match thus far. Followed by Luiz and Matic.

A decent hit by Ivanovic, but there was so much traffic in front of him I'm still calling it a slightly flukey goal.

The scoreline is no fluke though, Man City are in disarray and Demichelis is making Kolo Toure look like Franz Beckenbauer. Chelsea are playing a bit dirty as well, they are really getting in Man City's faces and outmuscling even Yaya Toure.

Dzeko or Silva should have had them level, both had chances. Eto'o probably had time to place his shot better for that one that hit the bar.

Another lucky call. Nastasic should be off. Pellegrini the new Fergie.

EDIT: ...and Mourinho gets the double over Pellegrini. Not sure what to make of that result as an Arsenal fan. But now we know City can be beaten. Hope Wenger was taking notes.

One of the key things Man Utd eventually developed under Fergie was the unshakeable belief that they could win - even when, on paper, they shouldn't. Chelsea under Mourinho have a similar belief. Most of the players have won a major trophy (or several) under Mou or at least in a Chelsea shirt.

Pretty much the only way Liverpool have any chance against Chelsea is if Suarez, Sterling and Sturridge dive every time they make it into the Chelsea box and win about 4 penalties.

Yet again Yaya not booked.

But David Luiz didn't get sent off either - he's good for about 4 yellows a game, I don't know how he gets away with it. Dirtiest player in the league.

Mourinho taking another dig at Wenger.

Arsenal are working for many, many years for the evolution of their team.

"What we are doing this season is what Arsenal have been building to for years.

Try building a new high capacity stadium from scratch whilst remaining financially sensible, and see how you get on.

This is one of the reasons i just can't like him. Even Pellegrini almost lost it in the post-match interview with the "lucky" lucky" "their's to lose" comments.

Mourinho's a big jerk. That's what makes him entertaining...but right now he's really pushing it. He's a bad winner and a worse loser.

EDIT: Joe Kinnear has resigned from Newcastle. "Judge me on my signings", said Kinnear when he showed up...stop me if I'm wrong but I don't think he actually signed anyone?

I wasn't aware it was Arsenal's policy to spend big and buy every midfielder under 25 and then loan out 50% of them?

He did try though!

i think they will win!

Meanwhile, some kit news - Everton announced a new five year deal with Umbro a littel earlier this afternoon. Nice to see them back outfitting a League team.

Hmm... I wonder if any other Premier League clubs will be wearing their stuff next year?
