USA 2-2 MEXICO

This friendly was much less a match in the proper sense and much more a shuffling of World Cup candidates and a little experimentation by both teams. USA should have won the match with a late Eddie Johnson goal that was incorrectly disallowed, but a draw is probably just about fair. Bradley was excellent in the first half, he will be USA's most important player in the tournament.

Sure, but I guess that is due to his past merits and since the injury he is not the same anymore, but it may take time (as I said, he is getting better and more recognizable from play to play). Löw on the other hand did say, that he plans with Schweinsteiger, but thinks he does not have the form yet (when he said, he will not take players to the WC that are theoretically fit or superb and that there are no places guaranteed).

For some reason I feel like he's still not that old, but he already has over 100 caps, which is a big deal if you play for Germany.

He looked fine on Tuesday night, albeit against United's subpar midfield. Nicely taken goal, too.

Not sure how the rest of Germany's central midfield stacks up right now, but I'd think he should be a strong contender for a spot in Brazil.

Looks like it's on ESPN

Edit: Scrub that, it's not. Don't think it's even being televised then :(

I think you may be right, I can;t even find a dodgy internet stream of it anywhere. Maybe you can get a radio broadcast of it - a poor substitute I suppose be better than nothing...

Actually, it's listed as being on Sky Sports here in the UK so might find it somewhere :)

I was just witnessing history being made.

Juan Arango (current Mönchgladbach player) built a football school in Venezuela for Girls. The Venezuelan U17 national team (trained at that school) has only qualified twice (went out in the group stage 2010). This year they got to the half final and were playing for place three this evening against Italy.
Italy has got there by only three goals in previous matches.
Venezuela tonight equalized to 4:4 in the 91st minute.
Unfortunately they then had bad luck in the penalties (no extra time being played). Two players hit aluminium and the third and fourth were kept. Italy won.

^ Poor Sammy. I was hoping he'd do well, but for such a young and inexperienced manager to go for Champions League qualification is a big ask.

I hope Jay Rodriguez hasn't picked up a serious injury after getting carried off against Man City. City came out with flying colors from a potentially tough fixture, Liverpool fans will have to hope they drop points somewhere else.

Newcastle are possibly the worst team in the Premier League right now. Mike Ashley is making no secret of his lack of interest in the Europa League.

Meanwhile Leicester have won promotion to the PL for the first time in a decade. QPR meanwhile still coming up short. 10pts off Burnley and 19pts off the pace. Ex-Liverpool player Konchesky will be returning to the top flight it seems.

Leicester is full of ex-United academy players: Danny Drinkwater, Will Keane, Richie de Laet. Congrats to them for coming back up.

Walk in the park for United today. They can score freely even without Rooney and RVP, but Newcastle is a shadow of their former selves. Hard to believe Mourinho felt he could let a player as good as Mata go, but… I won't complain.

Columbus 0-2 Toronto

Columbus lose at home to Toronto's newly star-studded squad. Michael Bradley pretty much won the match single-handledy with an early goal and Columbus' misfiring strikers did the rest.

I'm traveling down to watch the home match against DC United the weekend after next - hopefully they'll have sorted things out by then and I can watch another win.

No, West Ham United.;)

Carroll at least is still trying to play his way into the England squad - that's one more player than at Newcastle. :p

Oh dear Arsenal, this is becoming comical. No leadership in the team and Wenger doesn't offer anything either by sitting on his backside all match. No fight or hunger.

How much more can/will they fall

Even the FA Cup is looking like a big ask now.

If Arsenal keeps up this play they will lose the 4th spot. Not that I'd complain as Everton is close to take it. Final weeks will be interesting.

What a game for Everton, they simply played Arsenal off the pitch. Moyes built solid team at Everton, but Martinez has improved it. They, like Liverpool, now have their destiny in their own hands.

For Arsenal, the FA Cup becomes crucial - I think they really do need to win it and gain that important confidence boost that a trophy will bring. There is still a chance for them to be, in terms of results, the most successful Arsenal team in the last 8 years. But they cannot afford to finish fifth in the league.

Moyes did build a majority of that team but for some reason it seems like Martinez has gotten the best out of the team. Im hoping that Everton can continue their form and secure a top 4.

IN MLS news Chicago seems to have had a Fire sale (pun intended) by shipping off Austin Barry and Chris Rolfe for allocation money that wont be spent. Im still wondering how this team will perform under Frank Yallop. So far 4 draws and a loss. Theyve shown spots of promise but seem to lose it late in the game.

PEC Zwolle are going to play in Europe for the first time in their history.

Ajax played a 1-1 draw with Vitesse this weekend, that means they will end either as Champions or as runners up, but it means they take a Champions League spot.

PEC as KNVB beker finialist are assured of a place in Europe.
