Actually Texas A&M and Arkansas won I believe, so not 0-5 but 2-5

FWIW the hype on the SEC West was all media fabrication
It is their job

The SEC West was never as good as hyped and the East was never as bad

Sorry, let me clarify. The top 5 SEC West.

I'm a little surprised at the amount of support for Oregon over OSU and the apparent "no chance" most people are giving them.

Oregon has been beaten. So it's certainly not impossible. I think this is going to be closer than what people think.

I'm guilty of being in the no chance camp. Of course, I said the same thing when they faced Aabama. With that said, had Alabama beat OSU, I would have said the same thing - Oregon would have rolled over Alabama imo.

Funny enough, Ohio State is the best of the three teams to match up against Oregon. They - seemingly - have enough speed to run with them. They definitely have the talent. FSU and Bama might on paper, but not on the field. OSU does on both.

Also funny is how people like to use the most favorable rankings to promote fluff wins or bad losses (e.g. anyone that played A&M this year), Michigan State will have only lost to the #1 and #2 teams in the final polls in Oregon and OSU ;)

I think the B10 East division is about to become pretty nasty. Michigan with their new coach, OSU, and Michigan State, and Penn State? Whew....

Those are all big name coaches with national brand teams.

Oregon is 0-5 against OSU.

he he he.. yes.

for the record, i don't really care what conference a team is from. but for awhile it was an undeniable truth that one conference was head and shoulders above the rest... well maybe not that much above...

i think the playing field is more or less level now. the problem lay n the fact that, imho, southerners are easily offended and very self conscious about being southerners. they/we got our feelings hurt when folks discredited our brand of FOOTBALL!

i root for Vandy and TN. but i also root for Stanford and Arizona State. I have lived in both places and still have an affinity for those teams.

some folks will say that the SEC is no big deal now. especially after we lost so many games this week, we were 7-5 combined(with FLA still left to play their game). but keep in mind that is 11 teams from the sec in bowl games.

i have no idea which conference sent the most teams to a bowl game. and really when you get down to it there are so many bowl games and so many half assed teams getting bids(keep in mind UT was 6-6) that it would be a moot point anyway.

GO DUCKS!

FLA won... so 7-5...

I still like ORE over OSU. But I think it will be a good game. but in the end ORE by 21

i predicted the final once they announced the 4 teams. not on here but elsewhere.

GO DUCKS!

agreed.

on that note though a buddy of mine from Ohio pointed out that ALA draws a lot of water from all over the country and one of their stars from Ohio who lived just down the road from OSU went to ALA ...

i do agree that after this season it should be subject to change though for the whole of the big 10. i'd love to see Iowa in that group you mentioned...

Penn State is going to take a while, similar to USC, to regain their depth.

Michigan is definitely going to improve - and fast. They always have the talent with top recruiting classes, but Hoke's staff for some reason couldn't get their play to match their skill. I'm guessing a 7-8 win season next year and then year 2-3 is when we'll see some real progress.

Well me thinks Oregon is ready to play some football. We got bread for the tailgating too !!

Plenty of game left. But so far their execution hasn't been there. Can't have those drops on 3rd down and they have to tackle better.

Na. I can prove scientifically how they will lose.

See now.

EVERY time I watch either the Seahawks or the Ducks play a game LIVE. They lose.

Whenever I walk away from the TV they win.

I'm watching the game now so they will lose.

:D

35-20 with about 2:30 left in the 4th.

Looks like Urban's going to get his first national championship with the Bucks.

Edit; so, 42-20.

I remember how much everyone said tOSU was done after their loss to V.Tech, then how they would be embarrassed, again, by THE Alabama.

But at the end of it all... Go Bucks!

Another year, another blow out and another argument about a team that shouldn't be there.

Some things never change. :p

Can't hate on OSU winning. Lose your top 2 QB and still manage to run the table...by just running. You have to respect and give OSU their due for just dominating the competition.

So, I have to ask, how much difference dd the absence of Darren Carrington make?

Perhaps a small difference but that OSU defense was just playing tight coverage and not sure the outcome would have been much different. It wouldn't have changed OSU's game plan anyway, Ezekiel was running all over that Oregon defense and controlling the clock, there was no reason for OSU to pass unless they really needed to.

WOW,
all I can say is that I was totally wrong. OSU not only kept up with Oregon, they surpassed them. Congrats to Meyer and crew for turning that storied program around and achieved the ultimate goal of becoming national champions.

Unlike some of the prior national championships, they earned it, they were not coronated.

But in the case, both teams earned a spot, I think the system shows that it works in this case. In prior years OSU and quite possibly Oregon would have been excluded due to the BCS process.
