If Brady Hoke gets fired, it won't be because of losing. Anyone can ride the rocky ship of a young team losing. He'll get fired for his complete disregard of player safety with the way he treated his QB Morris today. Left him in on one leg. Then gets his bell rung, if not concussed, and leaves him in further. Then Gardner comes in, loses his helmet, and has to come out. The 3rd string idiot couldn't find his helmet and/or was told to go sit down, putting Morris back out there for a hand-off. Call a timeout. Put someone else in. That kid shouldn't have been allowed anywhere near the field. I expect the public outcry to be infinitely louder regarding that series of plays than the team's record. It seemed as much on Twitter during/after the game.

That being said, holy heck was that a fun game to watch as someone who doesn't like Michigan football. Wolverine fans should be counting down the days to basketball season.

I saw that play and I couldn't believe they put him back out there. They should have called timeout and then put the 3rd string QB in there, giving him time to find his helmet.

The Bama game was fun to watch. Besides the trouble we're still having about getting plays called in the huddle, the offense looks great. I think this is the best group of WR's Bama has ever had. I really wish they would give the ball more to my favorite RB Jolston Fowler.

THANK GOD Florida couldn't get more points off of all our turnovers!!!!!!

Sims will be good to go by the Ole Miss game and I do agree the Coker will be a great backup this year. If Sims goes down Alabama has great QBs that can easily step up and play but I will miss Sims scrambling because thats something in a QB that Bama hasn't had.

The offense is definitely improving, though Bama's running game didn't get going until the second half. I think that Henry's going to be at least as valuable as Yeldon going forward if he stays healthy. He reminds me of Mark Ingram and Eddie Lacy, who could be counted on to convert short yardage third downs and then some. Sims can get first downs and even TDs with his legs, something that wasn't A.J.'s forte, though he needs to know when to slide and when it's worth pushing for an extra few yards.

I'm more concerned about the defense. We need a better pass rush and especially we need better play at safety. Some of the teams we're going to play over the next couple of months will capitalize on every mistake in coverage.

But it should be fun to watch.

Brady Hoke should be fired TODAY... When asked if he saw his QB "wobbly" he said "I DID NOT"..... HE SHOULD BE FIRED!

It was clear that he was hurt. In todays world player safety is #1 and though the others coaches should of said something it all comes down to the head coach

Not sure why the NCAA football threads have been more active in prior recent years. In any case, it was interesting to read this morning that Oregon lost yesterday. I think that this is shaping up to be a weird season, with some very-highly ranked teams ending up with one loss. Anyway, I'm excited about Alabama's game tomorrow, which will be the team's first real test of the year.

That Oregon game was way too late and I've been way too busy this week to watch or chime in.

Today seems like a perfect day for college football. It's supposed to be in the 50s, cloudy, and rainy much of the day. Going to do some errands and then settle in on the couch. There's great games with ranked teams playing each other all day. The SEC gets us started, then ND/Stanford and more SEC, followed by Pac 12 and Big Ten capping the night off.

As a Spartan fan, I'm a bit worried about containing Abdullah from Nebraska, but I think ultimately Nebraska will have to throw and their QB will wilt under the pressure of MSU.

Edit: Go LSU and in particular the state of Mississippi. Here's hoping for big wins from Ole Miss and Miss. St.

Big day of college football today.

Waiting patiently for the Bama vs Ole Miss game.

What game or games are you looking forward to today?

What a week of big upsets. Rooting for LSU now just because I love a good upset.

Glad to see Alabama lose today.:D

Big upsets this weekend:

#2 Oregon loses
#3 Alabama loses
#4 Oklahoma loses

One of the most exciting weekends ever in college football
Great games, upsets, big time plays
Just glad the Dawgs won :)

Gurley is the real deal
He has the longest kick return, longest run and now the longest pass this season
He completed a 50 yard pass on his only attempt
Power, speed, great hands, good blocker... total package

Interesting week...Alabama just doesn't have a dominant squad like they have had past few seasons.

Completely agree with you. Defense doesn't have the same intensity and the offense isn't able to spread the ball around our TE's and WR's...

Blake Sims is stearing down his WR's and if all teams are able to double cover Amari Cooper like Ole Miss did, our passing game is in trouble

Thank you, state of Mississippi, for knocking some pretenders (but still very good teams) down a few pegs. Thank you so very much.

Just to seal the week, Utah upsets UCLA... What a Saturday!

I didn't get to see the game - I recorded it but heard the score and didn't feel much like watching Alabama lose. Unfortunately, I don't think that this is a freak one for Bama - I just don't see them finishing their schedule without another loss given yesterday's injuries and the way they're playing, especially on defense. But, as I said a few posts back, this is a very weird season.

I don't think they really know what to do with Blake Sims. Even with McCarron, Alabama's offense wasn't that explosive, they just knew what to do and how to use McCarron to match his abilities to make him effective as possible.

As for the defense, there's talent but the way they have been playing this year even in those 4 wins was not a Saban-coached defense. I could see a three-loss season.

Again, completely agree. Losing 3 games is highly likely. Ole Miss, Miss St, and Auburn...

My other favorite team Texas A&M could also beat Alabama but I think Bama's defense is good enough to stop them even if the game is a shootout

Pretty surprised with the AP poll today. Not sure Miss St. is worthy of #3, and really surprised that Michigan St. is now ahead of Oregon... Oh, and Auburn should be #1, I think it is just a matter of time until FSU goes down.

Agreed, I knew there would be some upheaval from Saturday's upsets but I don't think Miss. St. is a valid #3. It will all shake out as time goes on. I think Notre Dame is to high as well, but not by much
