Aguero injured...again.

EDIT: Silva joins him on the treatment table

I play tonight and will run home in time to see most of this one. Donovan with some pretty strong thoughts on klinsman this week...

It will all have been worth it if England qualify with a P10 W10 record before marching to victory in Stade de France on 10 July next year.

man in retroperspective that draw Austria had early in the campaign sure feels disappointing: with the home game against Liechtenstein and a 8win,1draw record it could have been a record for the history books here as well.

A perfect qualification run for England. But beating Lithuania is one thing - winning the upcoming friendlies against Spain, France, Germany and the Netherlands is going to be something else entirely.

Oranje come up short. All the big names now look like ghosts of their previous years.

Also beginning to wonder if Depay will last much longer.

An amazing fall from grace for the Dutch. There is still way too much talent on that team for them to be this bad.

USA playing Costa Rica in the most meaningless friendly they've ever participated in. I'm not sure I could care less...

van Persie own goal was not good either.

*World cup qualifiers*
tuff loss for Colombia but its still very early, there is still much more football to be played. Uruguay has always been a tuff opponent. plus James did not play due to injury :( #CantWinThemAll

USA beaten 0-1 by Costa Rica with a lifeless performance watched by the smallest crowd in years. Bad times. We look absolutely *****.

Despite all that, I am against firing Klinsman. First, he was brought in to bring bottom-up reform of our system - academies, training, all that, and I think that needs to continue. Second, we are in a rebuild - Donovan retired, Howard probably on his way out, Dempsey/Jones aging. Altidore has become a Heskey. Bradley at the peak perhaps, but he's not young. The defense is in full rebuild mode. Klinsi has beaten Mexico in the Azteca and we played to our expected level at the WC. I also don't think we have a better alternative.

yeah i agree. klinsmann is still the man.

So, saying that refs are “afraid to give decisions to Chelsea” brings the game into "disrepute", but publicly calling the team doctor an hija de puta when she steps on the field at the command of the ref to treat a player, and then subsequently humiliating her by stripping her of her duties, is not something worthy of punishment? Really?

Oh, right, we are talking about the FA here. The group of corrupt, rich white men who think Michel Platini is just the man to bring reform to FIFA. Idiots.

took that long did it...?

It's only because they're not winning ;)

I think Platini is the best of a bad bunch. After all, they're only looking at a £2m payment he took, rather than tens of millions :p

Danny Ings ruptured his cruciate ligament and is out for the season. Klopp is going to have to figure out a way to get Sturridge and Benteke working together, or switch to a single striker system and keep both happy through some form of rotation.

Klopp isn't that keen on rotating the squad .. with Dortmund he usually sticked to his 11 when it worked and only rotated when he need to because of injuries/had to chance.
I think in one of the champion seasons he only used a total of 14-15 different players within half a season(17 games!)

I think within the first few months there will be quite a few surprises about who he will select. I read some comments on an UK newspaper board where some liverpool fans talked about Klopp dropping the less technical able players etc.... at which point i had to chuckle a little bit .. because they obviously never bothered to look at his championship teams. ;)
Klopp selects players on their ability to "click" with his understanding of the game and have the work rate to back it up .. even if it means leaving some better technical players of the pitch. He is alwa
Players like Großkreutz, Kehl, Bender, Subotic, Barrios,Blazykowski, Pisczek all have qualities beyond pace and technical abilities ... and all were just as important as Götze,Lewandowski,Kagawa and later Reuss
He isn't a coach who excels in handling difficult 'star' players (compared with Heynckes).. keeping a player happy by rotating ? not gonna happen.

Klopp's system usually means hard work up front (overloading space and blocking passing routes in the midfield) so a switch to a formation with 5 player midfield is most likely given.
Which striker he will choose ? The one who accepts his philosophy better.

(Don't be surprised to see Emre Can back in the midfield opposed to being a right defender. ... )
